The Monroe Methodist church was the scene of a double ring wedding ceremony August 31. The Rev. Claude McCallister read the vows to join in marriage Miss Linda Lou Lautzenheiser and Clarence Deloyd Fellers. The altar was adorned with green palms, white gladioluses and orange carnations. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Verl Lautzenheiser. route 6, and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Fellers, Monroe. The wedding music was provided by organist, Chester Longenberger, and vocalists Rita Mattax and Aftaargaret Rowden, who sang, “I Love You Truly” and “Every Step of the Way.” iq t marriage by her father,. .the- ter ide selected a gown of imported chantilly lace and pure silk organza. The all lace bodice was fashioned with a scalloped saluina neckline, sprinkled with irridescent sequins and seed pearls. of honor. She chose a white silk organza dress with taffeta overskirt, trimmed in pale green and orange. Her pale green veil was caught to a matching crown Miss Lautzenheiser carrired an arrangement of orange carnations. Miss Darlene Fellers served as bridesmaid and was dressed identical to the honor attendant. Miss Vicki Mitchel was flower girl and was dressed in a gown of green organza and lace. She carried a basket of orange petals. For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Lautzenheiser wore a blue crepe brocaded dress with matching accessories. Mrs. Fellers, mother of the groom, chose a light beige brocaded dress with matching accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of white carnations. Larry Lautzenheiser stood as best man with Dem Martin, Darrell Bryan and Dave Runkle serving as ushers. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church basement for approximately 125 guests. Serving at the reception were the Misses Arlene Parrish and Connnie Everett. Ruth Ellen McCallister registered the gifts. The bride attended Adams Central high school and the groom is a graduate of Adams Central high school. He is employed as an interior decorator.

The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Simeon Schmitt officiated at a double ring wedding ceremony that united in marrriageg Miss jeani Aeschliman and Anthony Lengerich at 10 o’clock this morning at the St. Mary’s Catholic church. The vows were spoken following a musicale by Mrs. John Girard, organist, and the men’s choir, unde’- the direction of Ed Heimann. Miss Aeschliman 'is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Aeschliman, 828 Mercer avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lengerich, route 5, are the parents of the groom. Escorted by her father to an altar bedecked with blue and white gladioluses, the bride wore a gown of taffeta and chantilly lace in crystal white. The fitted bodice of lace was fashioned with a Scalloped square neckline etched with irridescent sequins and pearls. The long sleeves tapered to points over her hands. The billowing skirt featured lace panels in front and tiers of edged flounces in back, cascading into a chapel length train. A coronet of lace and pearl hearts.held her waist-length veil of imported illusian. The bride carried a heart shaped arrangement of blue and white carnations. The matron of honor, Mrs. John Lengerich, wore a gown of organza over taffeta Nin powder blue. The bodice was styled with a bateau neckline and elbow length sleeves. The controlled streetlength skirt was highlighted by a shepherdess back and bow. A matching bow headpiece with short veil /hmpleted the ensemble. She' carried a bouquet of blue and white carnations. Miss Donna Birch, Mrs. Glenn Wilder, and Mrs. Edward LaFontain served as bridesmaid and bridesmatrons and were dressed identical to the honor attendant. For her daughter's wedding. Mrs. Aeschliman wore a three piece beige silk suit with brown accessories. A corsage of blue and white carnations completed the ensemble. The groom's mother, Mrs. Lengerich, selected a blue print dress of nylon jersey

with bone accessories. She also wore a corsage of blue and white carnations. Edward Lengerich served as his brother’s best man with Edward LaFontain as groomsman. Ushering the guests to their seats were Kenneth Litmer and Glen Wilder. A wedding dinner was held following the ceremony at the K. of C. hall for approximately 48 guests. A reception will be held today, .also at the K. of C. hall, for 350 guests. Serving at the reception will be Mrs. Thomas Cowans, Mrs. John Paul McAhren, and the Misses Jessica Johnson, Deedra Murray, and Carolyn Roleff. Mrs. Kenneth Litmer will register the gifts. As the couple leaves for their wedding trip to northern Michigan, the new Mrs. Lengerich will be wearing a black and brown checked sheath dress with patent accessories. - The bride is a graduate of Decatur high school and is employed by Haflich and Morrissey shoe store. Her husband is a graduate of Decatur . Catholic high school and is employed by Tom Weis Men’s Wear. The couple will make their home on route 3, Decatur. SOYETTES HOLD FIRST MEETING Hie Decatur Soyettes held their first meeting of the year, Tuesday evening at the country home of Mary Miller. Sixteen members attended the wiener roast and pot luck supper on the patio. After a short business meeting the members went insid.e for a very enjoyable game of indoor golf. Mary Geisler and Irene Gattshall were in charge of the delightful evening. The next meeting will be October 1, with Pauline Edwards, Susan McCullough and Vivian Painter in charge.

The K. of C. Auxiliary will hold a card party Wednesday at 8 p. m. at the K. of C. Hall. As this is the first card party of the season, a good attendance is desired. Mrs. Marceline Lose will be hostess. The Calvary E. U. B. Births At the Adams county memorial hospital: An 8 lb., 6 oz. baby boy was born at 4:20 p.m. Friday to Walter and Virginia Wolfe Hirschy, route 6, Decatur. James and Beveriy Carlson Camp, Hi-Camp Trailer Court, are the parents of a 7 lb., 9 oz., baby girl born at 12:20 p.m. Friday.

MONROE W.S.C.S. MEETS THURSDAY The Monroe Methodist Woman’s Society of Christian Service met at the church Thursday evening with Mrs. Darold Borne in charge of prayer time preceding the regular meeting. The piano prelude was played by Mrs. Philip Barger. Mrs. Arlen Mitchel, program chairman, began the meeting by reading a poem and led in prayer. The group sang, “Joy to the World." For the special number, little Miss Sonja Poorman sang a splo, “i’ll Dp It All For Jesus." The lesson,™ "Our Mission Today," was presented by Mrs. Homer Winteregg with Mrs. Edward Pierce, Mrs. Charles Elam, Sonja Poorman. Cheryl Pierce, and Mrs. Paul Lobsiger taking a part in portraying the Christian's mission to all peoples. The devotions were given by Mrs. Elmo Stuckey, who read a poem, “Christ’s Mission.” by Phyllis Johnson, and also read scripture from the 4th chapter of Luke and closed with prayer. The business meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Harry Crownover. The secretary and treasurer's reports were given. Several notes of appreciation were read and plans for a “Harvest Supper" were discussed. Cards were given to six members who had accumulated a total of 500 leading points. Mrs. Ronald Stuckey joined the society as a new member. For the social time, refreshments were served by the hostesses, the Mesdames James Nussbaum, Paul Lobsiger, Clifford Essex, Claude Leisure, Clarence Dick, Arlen Mitchel and Arthur Mitchel.

TWO DECATUR WOMEN LISTED IN WHO’S WHO Two outstanding women from the Decatur area haye made their first appearance in "Who’s Who of American Women,’ themed itors of the newly published third addition announced. Those listed from this area include Mrs. Laura A. Bosse and Miss Frances D. Dugan. Nationally the new volume totals 20,500 names, 8.800 of them for the first time, said publisher Jackson Martindell, board chairman of Marquis-Who’s Who, Inc., Chicago. They are chosen by the editors of the parent publication, "Who’s Who in America.” from business, science .education, the arts, government and other meritorious fields, including civic activity. Illustrating the variety of selection, the new names range from Dr. Frances O. Kelsey, winner of the presidential gold medal for her exposure of the drug thalidomide, to commedienne Carol Burnett. Camera And Radio Stolen From Auto John Shaffer. 904 N. 13th St., reported a theft to the city police at 10 O’clock Friday morning, although the theft occured sometime between Sunday and Tuesday of this week. Shaffer reported that while his automobile was parked at a N. 13th St. service station from Sept. 1 to 3, a movie carera, valued at S9O, and a transistor radio, valued at SSO, were stolen from the car.

STYLE SHOW IS - HELD AT VILLA LANES / For the second consecutive year. Villa Lanes and the E. F. Gass store co-hosted a free bowling clinic and sportswear style show at the local lanes Thursday afternoon. A large crowd of interested -bo.wlers, as well as a number of, , guests attended the showing, which was very well received by the group. The lanes themselves served as the stage setting for the fashion showing, with the models parading the length of the approach in front of the many spectators. The women attending were seated in the bowler’s seats, spectator seats and in rows of chairs on the concourse. Mrs. Dick Mies served as mistress of ceremonies for the afternoon. welcoming the guests and then narrating the fabulous showing of sportswear which followed. All of the apparel shown was from the E. F. Gass store, compliments of Bill and Pat Gass, and was selected with just the women bowlers in mind. The first round consisted mainly of fashionable, and very popular for bowling, fully lined wool and stretch slacks, topped with a variety of color co-ordinated or contrasting sweaters. The second portion of the showing was devoted to sporty skirt and/or sweater ensembles, mostly dyed to match. Also in this group were a couple of the newly popular wrap around skirts with their own color cued blouses ( and sweaters. A variety of "sweater knits” and three piece flat wool knit suit ensembles, were modeled in the last sequences. Although some we-e a little dressy for bowling itself, they were perfect selections for afterbowling dinner dates.
