SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7,
The Church Invites You
“We moderns need a goal, a plan for action, and the opportunity to proceed,” says Dr. Cyrus W, Barnes of New York University. “The Christian life gives a purpose bigger than life, meriting and requiring commitment, and thoroughly challenging. One can have direction for today and means of proceeding toward eventual achievement of His kingdom, a universe characterized by love and respect. One’s efforts, though microscopic in large perspective, have worth and significance. Mailure is possible but temporary; the cause will prevail.” Great stress is laid on attaining knowledge but little attention to the acquiring of wisdom. Such wisdom can be acquired by devoting one’s time to the relevahce of Christ. His teachings and the power of the Holy Spirit. The church proclaims Christ as the Light and the Hope of the world. WHY NOT ACCEPT THE INVITATION AND COME TO CHURCH NEXT SUNDAY?

One-eighth of China’s population! some 55,000,000 people, are homey less as the result of civil war or summer floods, according to the Ministry of Social Affairs. It is estimated that 43,551,000 have fled the fighting areas and some 11,000,000 are victims of floods and resultant famine.
One can find solace in the report of the National Association of Manufacturers that more and more of our countrymen are finding peace of soul and mind in worship in churches of their choice. Recent figures show that 64 per cent of our population now is affiliated with a church. Sale of religious books is three times that of other books. Religious films are strong at box offices, and songs with spiritual themes are on the “foit parade.”
