Chet Kessler, former Monroe athlete, has resigned as basketball coach at Hammond high school to enter private employment. The first of the auction sales of the Reppert auction school students was held today. With all proceeds to go to the Tri Kappa soroity’s charitable projects. Radio Rome reports that King Victor Emmanual has ordered all of Italy to be placed under martial law. COURT NEWS FHMte med A petition in garnishment was filed and an order for judgment defendant to appear was also filed, in the case of Household Finance Corp., vs. Richard L. Roth and the General Electric Co. Ordered to Pay In the divorce case of Mary Ann Hart vs. Clifton Hart, Jr., the defendant was ordered to pay S2OO attorney fees for the benefit of the plaintiff. Divorce Complaint A complaint for divorce and affidavit of residence was filed by Roberta G. Burkhalter against Daryll D. Burkhalter, and a summons was ordered issued to the sheriff for the defendant, returnable Sept. 3. An affidavit for temporary allowance was filed, and an affidavit and application for a restraining order was filed, submitted and approved by the court. Motion to Dismiss In the divorce case of Elizabeth Kay Hirschy vs. Charles F, Hirschy, a motion to dismiss was filed by the plaintiff. Jobless Pay Claims Increase In State INDIANAPOLIS (UPI) — Director Lewis F. Nicolini of the Indiana Employment Security Division said Tuesday that unemployment compensation claims last week totaled 33,688, an increase of 1,411 from the previous week. He said the number of new claims rose while there was a decline in continued claims. NOTICE To the taxpayers of Adams County, State of Indiana. You are hereby notified that on the 17th day of June, 1963, the Board of County Commissioners of Adams County, State of Indiana pursuant to notice heretofore given, and under and by virtue of Chapter 296, Arits of 1955, as amended, duly adopted a plan whereby a Cumulative Court House Building Fund, was established to provide for the following: To provice funds for building remodeling and/or repair of the Court House. Such fund to be provided for by a tax levy of Five Cents <s.Os) on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of taxable real and personal property within said taxing unit, said tax to be levied annually beginning in 1963, payable in 1964, and continuing for a total period of Ten (10) years, as authorised by said Act. That pursuant to said Act, ten (10) or more taxpayers in said taxing unit, other than those who pay poll tax only, and who will be affected by said tax levy may file a petition with the County Auditor of Adams County, not later than ten (10) days after the publics, tlon of this notice, setting forth their objections to the proposed levy.
