gathering. She has been working for Goldwater in Washington for many months. A number of GOP national chiefs will appear in Indiana during the next few months at district fund-raising dinners and other affairs. Sen Thruston Morton of Kentucky former national chairman. 1 is scheduled to address a 6th District money r;i ing gathering in the Wabash College fieldhouse at Crawfordsville on Sept. 21. Names Morton, Ford When. Goldwater was asked to I mention other conservative GOP presidential possibilities during a similar dinner at New Castle several weeks ago, he named Morton and Rep. Gerald R. Ford of Michi--1 gan, who will be the chief speaker at the fall meeting of the Indiana 'Republican Editorial Association I in Indianapolis.
Richard M. Nixon, 1960 presidential nominee, who has revived his political publicity recently, has been asked to address a 2nd District money-soliciting meeting, but the date and the place have not been chosen. Gov. Nelson -Rockefeller of New York announced a week ago that he will visit Indiana, but his sponsor was not announced. The office of State Chairman Robert N. Stewart announced that similar tambourine-shaking gatherings will be held in every district to bolster badly-depleted party finances. If and when Goldwater decides to run for president, he is expected to enter the Indiana preferential primary to forestall a frivolous splinter candidate like Lar Daly, who campaigns~lh a number of *tate primaries wearing an Uncle Samsuit. Kennedy May Run _ President Kennedy may be compelled to run in the Hoosier primary for the same reason, -according to thepoliticos. No appearances in Indiana for other GOP presidential possibilities have been announced to date. They include three governors— George Romney of Michigan, William Scranton of Pennsylvania, and Mark Hatfield of Oregon. Officials of other districts may try to land one of them for a speaker.

Longer Life For Sails To increase the life of sails and retain their “set,” always follow these rules: (1) Provide a topping lift, when sails are lowered, by unhooking the main sheet halyard and attaching to end of boom to lift boom clear of hull. (2) Break in new sails easily — don’t stretch tightly, and sail in light breezes across the wind only. (3) Don’t reef light sails — this will pull them out of shape.

De-Rusting Tools Remove rust spots from metal yard and garden tools by rubbing with steel wool soaked with lubricating oil; For stubborn spots, repeat the process, using rust solvent. It’s a good idea, too, to leave a thin film of oil on the tools for continued protection against rust invasion. Blowing Birds’ Eggs Nature hobbyists who make collections of birds’ egs must puncture the ends of the shells and blow out the fluid contents so that the shells may be preserved without decay. One hobbyist we know uses a hollow rubber ball wjth a hole cut to receive the large end of the shell. Slowly squeezing the ball expels the contents of the egg. ■ * .
