The First Presbyterian church of Decatur was the scene of a double ring wedding ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday. Tail stately arrangements of white gladioluses, mums, and daisy pompoms with lemon foliage adorned the altar where the Rev. Ray J. Walther read the sherpd vows to join in marriage Miss Sue Petrie and Richard Allen Crawford. The parentis of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Petrie, 222 South First rtreet, Decatur, and Mr. and Mrs. David Crawford, Clearwater, Fla. The wedding music was provided by Miss Helen Haubold, organist, who used selections including “O Promise Me,” “This Is My Beloved,” “I Love You Truly,” and the traditions l wedding march. Escorted down the white carpeted aisle by her father, the bride selected a gown of silk organza and alencon lace over taffeta. Floral motifs of re-embroidered lace studded with pearls appliqued the molded bodice that was styled with a scoop neckline and below-thc-elbow sleeves. The motif design was repeated on the slim sheath skirt that featured a circular train sweeping from a waist bow to chapel-length. The bride carried a stephonitis trimmed oval of butterfly roses. French carnations, and fem foliage. The waist length veil of imported illusion was. caught to a crown of pearls and crystal rondelles. Miss Nancy Bennett, Decatur, was the maid of honor and appeared in a dress of nile green chiffon over taffeta. The sleeveless bodice was topped with an empire-length stole featuring a bateu neckline, below-the-elbow sleeves, and back panels that flowed to the hem of the controlled street-length skirt. Miss Bennett carried a flat basket arrangement of white daisies. A matching petal half hat with a bouffant veil completed her ensemble. The bridesmaids were Mrs. R. M. Sanderson and Mrs. Roger Eley, who were dressed identical to the honor attendant. The flower girl was Miss Julie Petrie, niece of the bride, who wore a white dacon dress. The skirt featured appiqued daisies with the sleeves outlihed with lace. At the waist was a nile green ribbon that matched the dresses of the attendants. She carried a basket of flowers similar to, though smaller than, the honor attendant. ' For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Petrie selected a suit of pink silk linen that was-fashioned with a lace bodice. Matching shoes and hat and a corsage of white orchids completed her ensemble. Mrs. Crawford, mother of the groom, chose a powder blue embroidered silk sheath dress with matching accessories and a corsage of white orchids. David Crawford served as his brother’s best man with Tom Nietch, Pete Smith, and W. I. King serving as ushers.

Stale School Boards In Sales Tax Fight INDIANAPOLIS (UPD — The Indiana School Boards Association adopted a resolution Sunday pledging to enter the sales tax court battle on the side of the sales tax. The board of directors of the association, which represents 85 per cent of the public schools in Indiana, decided to seek Supreme Court approval to enter the tax case as a “friend of the court.” The court already has five such friends, several of whom already have filed briefs in the case of Dallas Sells, AFL-CIO president, versus Governor Welsh and the Indiana Revenue Board. Sells won a lower court decision in which Marion Circuit Court Judge John Niblack held the 2 per cent sales tax unconstitutional. Welsh retained special counsel, George Za'as, to defend the tax and the appeal now is before the state Supreme Court. Ralph Weston, Brazil, president of the school board group, called a meeting of the directors who adopted the resolution to intervene not only in the pending tax challenge but any other cases affecting the three-pronged tax program enacted by the 1963 Legislature which may be filed later. “We do ndt. specifically favor a sales tax or any other tax. feeling that it is the duty and responsibility of the legislature to make the determination of the source of needed state revenues,” Weston I said.
