tian Missionary Society here explained that Miss Trout plans to continue writing and translation work she has done occasionally in the past, and also will make more frequent talks than she did prior to ffetirement. “Slow Her Down** “We are just hoping to slow her down,” they said. “She has done so much for the Disciples. At the international convention in Miami there will be a recognition service pointing out some of the work she has done?’ A major portion of that work, which has taken her frequently into remote areas of the world, has been as an executive, but by her own request, she returned to the mission field for the last two years of her career. She was a principal organizer of the United Christian Missionary Society’s Department of Christian Women's Fellowship and served as its first executive secretary in 1952. Her organization work involved trips to 35 countries. One of the frightening times of her life came in 1923 when she was just beginning her work in Japan. An earthquake struck Tokyo, where she was living, and killed an estimated 143,000 persons. She also had some close calls while serving in revolution - torn countries- —— Translated Boeks During her earlier years in Japan, Miss Trout was an associate xA Dr. ,Toxf*«ko Kagawa. f anises Japanese - Christian leader, and has translated several of his books.
