Refreshments were served by Mrs. Kohne at the close of the meeting to the 11 members and one guests present. Farewell party given FOR MISSIONARY FAMILY The Glenn Habegger home was the scene of a family farewell Sunday for the outgoing missionaries, Rev. and Mrs. Gareth Wiederker and children, Karen, Ann Louise, and Wayne. They will leave Friday morning from Baer Field, Fort Wayne, and fly by jet to Freetown, Sierre Leone, West Africa, arriving there Saturday morning. A delicious dinner was enjoyed at noon. The afternoon was spent by playing and making tape recordings and a timely devotional period. Those present were Rev. and Mrs. C. H. Wiederkehr and Anzie; Jonas Gerig; Mrs. Homer Habegger, Steve, Jane and Carol; all of Berne; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stokes of Lima, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Zurcher, Brenda, Stanley, Arlene, and Sandra of Fort Wayne; Roh, Leon, and Farrell Habegger of Decatur. 39’ERS CLUB HOLD DINNER MEETING The 39’ers club field a guest night and dinner meeting at the Community Center Tuesday evening. The Haley-Anderson company presented a skit entitled, “The Wedding.” The club was then led. in group singing by Mrs. Joseph-' ine Neireiter and was accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Miriam Gay. For the remainder of the evening the club enjoyed cards and games. Guests of the club were Mrs. Grover Levey, Miriam Gay, Lillib Reinking, Edna Sparks, Henry Adler, Mrs. Clouse, Robert August and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Anderson. The Olive Rebekah Lodge met recently in the Red Men’s Hall. Plans were made for the next meeting to be a dinner meeting at the Dutch Mill in Bluffton. Locals

Miss Judith Kay Neaderhouser will become the bride of James L. Sipe, Sept. 1 at the United Church of Christ, according to an announcement made by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert P Neaderhouser, Berne. Her fiance’s parents are Mr and Mrs. Lest e r K. Sipe of Monroe. Miss Neaderhouser and Sipe are both graduates of Berne-French high school.- Sipe is attending Purdue University, where he is a member of Rochdale house and Alpha Zeta honorary fraternity.

Mr. and Mrs. Menno Habegger will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with an open house to be held in the fellowship hall of the First Mennonite church July 14 from 2 until 4:30 p. nj. The couplp ask that gifts be omitted. The Haoeggers were married July 13, 1913, at the home of Hibbggef'S parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Habegger. with the late S. F. Sprunger officiating. Mrs; Habegger is the former Lehman, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David C. Lehman. Both a.e natives of this community and are members of the First Mennonite church. Mr. Habegger was part owner of the Serv-Us-Store for 28 years before retiring and selling his -interest, in September, 1962. They are the parents of four children, Mrs. Crist (Harriet) Gerber, Inporte; Lester G. Habegger, Fort Wayne: Mis. Deryll (Marjorie! Sprunger, Napoleon. O.: and Max D. Habegger, Houston. Texas. Births I Paul and Marcile Alles of Fort Wayne are the parents of a baby boy born June 19 at the St. Joseph's Hospital. The baby has been named Gordon James. At the Adams county memorial hospital: A 5 lb., 15 oz. baby girl was born today at 10:30 a.m. to William and Mary Death Augsburger, Fort Wayne. Red Cross Office To Close For Two Days The Red Cross office in this city will be closed both Thursday and Friday, Mrs. Wanda Oelberg, secretary, announced today.
