A white carpet graced the way to an altar bedecked with tall arrangements of blue and white double ring wedding ceremony today at 11 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Simeon Schmitt read the sacred vows to join together in holy wedlock Miss Suzanne Sutton and Joseph Louis lacovelli. The parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Jesse C. Sutton, 407 North Second street, Decatur, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis lacovelli, Elmwood Park, Hl. The wedding music was provided by Mrs. John Girard, organist. and the men’s choir who sang “Ave Maria,” “Panis Angelicos” and as the bride placed the flowers on the altar of the Blessed Virgin Mary, "Remember Holy Mary.” Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride appeared in f gown oi silk organza over taffeta. The molded bodice was fashioned with a scooped neckline. Adorning the bodice and the front panel of the controlled skirt were re-em-broidered alencon lace motifs. Soft, unpressed pleats flowed from the sides and back of the skirt into a cathedral-length train. The, bride carried a prayer book topped with a cascading arrangement of white gardenias with ivy streamers. The mantilla was of silk -illusion that was edged with alencon lace motifs.
The maid of honpr, Miss Sarah Sutton, the bride’s sister, selected a dress of white organza with a molded bodice that was fashioned with a scoop neckline and short sleeves. A soft pleated blue cummerbund with a large bow, at the back waist topped a controlled skirt of unpressed pleats. The matching headpiece of bow bands featured a bouffant Maline veil. Miss Sutton carried a flat spring basket of pale blue daisies with pale blue streamers. The bridesmaids, the Misses Sharon and Sandra Sutton, sisters of the bride, and the flower girls, Stephenie Sutton, also the bride’s sister, and Laura Smith, a niece of the groom, were dressed identical to the honor attendant with the exception that the flower girls wore pdain satin bands in their hair and carried smaller flower baskets. ‘ As an ensemble for her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Sutton chose a, turquoise sheath dress with matching accessories while Mrs. lacovelli, the groom’s mother, selected a pale yellow Chiffon dress with matching accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of white roses to complete their outfits. Sante lacovelli, Elmwood Park, stood as his brother’s best man, with Joseph Platta and Micheal Nitti, both of Elmwood Park, serving as ushers. A wedding breakfast was held at the Four Seasems for 50 guests with the reception to be held at the Sutton home from 3-5 p.m. for approximately 200 guests. A white lace tablecloth over an undercloth of light blue and a few pink roses will set the table (for the wedding cake. Serving at !the reception will be Mrs. Ted Hutker, Decatur; Mrs. Tom Tsiguloff, Miss Jeanne Graft, and Miss Geraldine Schultz, all of Fdrt Wayne. For a wedding trip of unannounced destination the new Mrs. lacovelli selected a two piece dress of white eyelet over, pink. The new Mrs. lacovelli is a graduate of Decatur Catholic high school and St. Francis College and is employed in teaching, lacovelli is a graduate of Elmwood Park high school, DeVry Technical Institute, and is completing his senior year at Indiana Institute of Technology. The couple plan to make their home in Fort Wayne. Storage Odor Glass jars or bottles won’t get that musty storage snjell if you’ll drop a clove or two into them ae you put them away until next season. Ditto for vacuum bottles and jugse and other such seasonal equipment.

CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP BUFFET The annual evening buffet and installation of officers of the Christian women’s fellowship of the Chirstian church was held Wednesday evening in the church dining room. Pink and white were the colors chosen for the dining room appointments. The buffet table centerpiece, the candies, the individual table bouquets of pink and white roses, the napkins, and nut cups all carried the pink and white theme. The dinner was in the form of a salad and sandwich with /friany • interesting and delicious Salads being served. After the business meeting was held around the tables, the group adjourned to the sanctuary. An impressive installation service using the theme “Old and New Shoes" was presented by Mrs. William Bauman, outgoing president. The following officers were installed: president, Mrs. Roy Stucky; first vice president, Florence Lichtenstiger; secretary, Mrs. Max Stucky; treasurer, Mrs. Homer Ruhl: worship chairman, Mrs. William Bauman; study chairman, Mrs. Harmon Kraft; and service chairman, Mrs. Paul Daniels. The evening was closed with prayer and all repeating the C. W. F. missionary prayer. Annual Conference Retreat Is Held The second annual conference retreat of The Indiana Kentucky synod for all women of the United Church of Christ was held June 25 to 28, at Indiana Central College, Indianapolis. 3 The theme of the conference was “The Growing Christian in Our Changing Culture.” with Mrs. Harold Roth, Evansville, presiding chairman. Dr. Willis Elliott of New York, led the discussion groups. Other principal leaders were, Rev. Richard .West, Mt. Vernon, 0., Mrs. David Baker, “Assignment Race,” Rev. E. A. Hawley, Chicago, 111., Mrs. Cryil Dutt, missions and life of India. Those attending from Decatur and Bluffton United Church of Christ were the Mesdames Lawerence Rash, Anna Lehman, Alton Corson, Cora Happner, Nora Beberstine, and Mildred Krin.

Ladies Fellowship Has Recent Meeting The Ladies Fellowship of the Decatur Missionary church met recently at the home of Mrs. George Millington. The president, Mrs. Eugene Beam, opened the meeting by reading an article entitled, “Declare Your Freedom.” The roll call was answered by 9 , members and one guest, Mrs. Esta Ginter,SA letter from the Don Rohr family, missionaries enroute to Hawaii, was then read. Doris Garboden gave the devotions. Seven rules for helping others were taken from the parable of the Good Samarition. The work session was spent sorting Sunday School materials and working on rag rugs. Delicious refreshments were served by Mrs. Deloris McCagg. Closing prayer was offered by Mrs. Harold Idlewine. Rainbow Girls Host International Order The Decatur Assembly number 24 of the Rainbow Girls was host to the international order of Rainbow for Girls, Indiana assemblies. Those attending included Bluffton and Warren as well as Decatur. The annual joint inspection was held June 22 at the Masonic hall. District deputy, Mrs. Aldine Klingman, acted as supreme inspector. The theme for the day of “God’s Birds and Flowers” was carried out in the beautiful bird cages, birds and flowers that decorated the white tables. A banquet dinner was served at noon by the Eastern Stars, and mothers and friends of the Rainbow Girls. The Decatur assembly opened inspection with Nora Lea Brown, worthy advisor, presiding. Mrs. Aldine Klingman was presented at the altar where soloist Candy Johnson sang to her. She was then escorted east as eight Rainbow Girls sang, “Aldine We Love You,” A gift from the three assemblies was presented to her in a bird cage containing the wise old owl. The introduction of the distinguished guests was given by Nora Lea Brown. The Bluffton assembly closed the meeting with Suzanne Spaid, worthy advisor, presiding. The women of Pochantas will meet at the Red Men‘s hall, Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Two Vehicles Are Damaged In Wreck Two vehicles were damaged in an accident Friday at 5:25 p.m., three-quarters of a mile south of Preble on county road 37. A pick-up truck driven by Norman Dale Rorick, 27, 1104 W. Monroe St., was struck in the left rear by a car driven by Clarence Scheumann, 18, route 5, Decatur, inflicting S2OO damage to the car and $75 to the pickup. Rorick was northbound and as he started to turn left into the J. N. Wyss residence, a vehicle following him swerved to the right to avoid striking, his vehicle in front of him swerved to the right, he swerved to the left, failing to see the Rorick truck, and colliding with it. The sheriffs department and Inidana State Police investigated. Wirley Burial In Decatur On Monday i Graveside services will be held at the Decatur cemetery Monday for Floyd Wirley, of Hammond, who died Thursday. The Rev. Elbert Smith, Jr., will officiate. His wife, the former Nora Cassady, is a cousin of Mrs. Phil Macklin, Mrs. Alice Christen, Mrs. George Squier and Charles Bowers, all of Decatur. Mrs. Wirley is the daughter Os the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Cassady. Youth For Christ At Berne This Evening An Adams county area Youth for Christ rally will be held at the First Mennonite church, Berne at 8 o’clock, tonight. It will be the concluding rally of the 18th anniversary of Adams county area Youth for Christ. Guest speaker at the rally is Stan Reilly, 19, a student at Bethel college in Mishawaka.
