McColly explained that only the first two weeks and four games for each team are being released now, as there may be a need for personnel or player changes, additional practices and a solving of unforeseen problems at the end of the two-week period. If the teams seem to be well balanced and the Tiger division is running smoothly, McColly explained, the remaining schedule will be posted. tnHians Keep Unbeaten Mark In Little League The Indians remained in - first p'ace in the Decatur Little League and stayed unbeaten Friday evening, rallying for three runs in the last inning to pull out a 10-9 win ’ over the Red Sox. It was the fourth win without a 1 loss for the Indians, and they retain their percentage-points margin over the White Sox, who own a 5 1 mark. Kent Reed started the winning rally in the final inning when he walked. Mike Curtin reached base on an error, and Reed scored when Mike Schnepf popped out. Curtin rode home on a single by Dan Pierce, who stole second. Pierce then scored the winning run as he tallied all the way from second base as Max Bedwell was beating out an infield hit. ■». Singles by Tom Hullinger and Ken Gause put the Red Sox into a tworun lead in the top of the first, but the Indians came back with two in their half of the first. The Red Sox added another two runs in the second inning, but the Indians took a 6-4 lead with four runs in the second on four walks, a hit batsman and a single by Max Bedweil. The Red Sox came back in the: third inning with five runs on a walk, an Indian error, singles by Alan Busse, John Hackman and Hullinger’s third single, and a double by Gause. The Indians cut the lead to 9-7 in their half of the third when Chuck Call walked and eventually scored on Curtin’s single. The game was limited to five innings due to the curfew. Cubs Defeat Braves Friday In Pony League The Decatur Cubs rang up their third win of the season Friday evening when they edged the Decatur Braves by a 9-8 score in a see-saw Pony League contest at Worthman field. Each team led twice and the score was tied twice before the Cubs came up with what proved to be the winning run in the last of the sixth, to give the decision to relief pitcher Stu Spiegel. A triple by Kip Lutes and a single by Nick Smitley gave the Braves a one-run lead in the first inning, which they upped to 3-0 in the third on an error, and singles by Tom Blythe, John August and Jim Cass. Hie Cubs took the lead in their half of the third when Don Williams singled, Bill Brown walked and Doug Spaulding singled txj load the bases. All three rode home on Lon Hawkins’ triple, and Hawkins scored on a wild throw to the plate. The Braves tied the score in the fourth and regained the lead at 5-4 with a run in the fifth on singles by Smitley and August. The Cubs, however, bounced back with another four-run inning in their half of the fifth on three Cardinals Lose To Monmouth Friday Night Denny Reinking’s one-out single produced the winning run as Monmouth edged the Decatur Cardinals by a 9-8 score in an Adams county Pony League game at Monmouth Friday evening. Trailing 8-7 with one out in the last of the seventh, Monmouth began its winning rally when Rice was hit by a pitch. Bertsch followed with a single and Spiegel walked. Duane Thieme then singled to score one run and Reinking followed with his game-winning How. Monmouth had scored six times in the third inning to take a 6-0 lead over the Cardinals. Four walks, a single by Bertsch, a double by R. Reinking and triples by Whitman and Spiegel featured the big inning. The Cards scored their first run in the fourth inning and tallied again in the fifth when Steve Burger walked and scored ahead of Greg Litchfield’s triple. The Decatur nine then grabbed the lead with a six-run sixth inning, with Litchfield’s single the only hit of the inning. Monmouth cut one run off the Cardinal lead in their half of the sixth, and then came up with their winning rally in the seventh. The Cardinals, with a 2-3 'record, will meet the Decatur Braves at 8 o’clock Monday evening at Worthman Field.
