Committee Visits Lutheran Churches A committee from Zion Lutheran church visited three Lutheran congregations in Detroit Tuesday to observe their operation and programs with the thought of adapting these programs to improve the local congregation’s service to its members and to the community. The study group consisted of Norbert Bleeke, Jack Schnepf, Daniel R. Freeby, Smith Snively, Phil Sauer and the Rev. Richard C. Ludwig. The group first visited Our Savior Lutheran church, Dickerson and Elmdale, where its senior pastor, the Rev. E. (UPI) — James Esterline, 43, former manager of a supermarket here, drew a 2-14 year suspended sentence Tuesday on charges of embezzling $25,000 from the firm. Esterline pleaded guilty to the charge last February. He told police' he started taking the money in amounts of $75 to SIOO a week in 1959. Allen Circuit Judge W. O. Hughes ordered Esterline to make full restitution during the next two years. Esterline has already made partial restitution, turning the equity in his home to his former emplpyers.
