Ritchey read the vows. A white carpet led the way to an altar that was graced with small flower arrangements and candles. Providing the organ music was Delores Mishler, who played such selections as “I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked,” “Jesus, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” “How Lovely Are Thy Dwellings” and “Largo.” Soloist, Ralph McFadden, sang “O, Perfect Love,” “Saviour Like a Shepherd Lead Us’ and “The Wedding Prayer.” Given in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a gown of imported alencon lace and pure silk organza. The fitted organza bodice was vfashioned with scalloped alencon lace sprinkled with seed pearls and forming the oval neckline with short organza sleeves. Lace appliques accented the front of the bell-shaped skirt with back fullness that swept into a lace appliqued chapel-length train. The bride wore a pearl necklace, a gift of the groom, and carried a white Bible topped with an orchid. Her bouffant waist-length veil of imported french illusion was caught to a crown of alencon lace and seed pearls. ' The matron of honor, Mrs. Rais Williams, selected a gown of embroidered and plain pure silk organza. The embroidered organza bodice was fashioned with a scoop neckline and short sleeves. The deep hemmed ballerina-length organza skirt was detailed by a back bow of taffeta. The dress was accented with a pearl necklace, a gift of the bride. The headdress consisted of a band of pink organza roses with a circular veil. Mrs. Williams carried white mums with pink carnations. Other attendants, who were dressed identical to the

•Society DECATUB SOYETTES ENJOY AN OUTING Fifteen members of the Decatur Soyettes met recently at HannaNuttman park for a picnic. After the delicious meal was iserved, a business meeting was held. The hostesses for this meeting. Jerry Smith and Gladys Keller, then conducted a "white elephant bingo” party which was enjoyed by every, one present. _ This is the final Decatur Soyette meeting for this season. The next meeting wil be held in September. SCHOOL REPORTERS HONORED AT DINNER Eight young ladies, all of whom ,were school reporters for the Decatur Daily Democrat, dined at the Fairway last evening at a party given in their honor by the Democrat. The long table was linen covered and exquisitely set with ingenious place cards that stated each reporter’s name and school on the cover and all reporters and the school represented on the inside, marking the place of each attending. Following the meal, Dick Heller, Jr., editor, expressed to the reporters, his thanks for the fine job of covering the news at the local schools, and Mrs. Paul Erp, who assumed the responsibility of planning the party gave a token gift of appreciation, on behalf of the Democrat, to each reporter. Those attending included the Misses Donna Bixler, and Marilyn Scott representing Decatur high school; Iris Hebble and Joan Gase, Decatur Catholic; Sylvia Buettner, Pleasant Mills, Sandy Nycom, and Janet Reiter, Hoagland; and Kay Shaffer, Monmouth; Mrs. Paul .Erp, and Dick Heller, Jr. Reporters unable to attend included Miss Marilyn Vizard, Adams Central, and _ Miss Elaine Weidler, Monmouth. honor attendant, were Miss Wanda Neuenschwander and Miss Nancy Habegger. For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Arnold selected an aqua silk eyelet dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses. The groom’s mother chose a light blue silk dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Bill Peters served as best man with Alan Habegger, Roger Habegger, Duane Arnold, and Dan Williamson seating the guests. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church basement for approximately 275 guests. Those serving at the reception included the Mesdames Orval Neuenschwander, Roe Lehman, Eugene Arnold, Homer Arnold, Jr., Larry Roth, Bill Hoffman and Miss Kathleen Adler. Registering gifts were Mrs. Roger Habegger and Miss Joyce Longfellow. A pink and white dacron dress with white accessories and an orchid from the bridal bouquet was the esemble chosen by the new Mrs. Habegger for a honeymoon trip of undisclosed destination. The.bride is a graduate of Adams Central, attended Manchested College and is employed as a secretary for the Central Soya feed research department. Habegger is a graduate of Adams Central and is a senior at Purdue University. He is employed for the summer by I. T. T. in Fort Wayne. Upon their return the couple will be at home at 422% North Third Street, Decatur, until after the first of September when they will move to Lafayette.

( An aqua silk organza street dress with matching accessories was chosen by the mother of the bride and the bridegroom’s mother wore 4 yellow linen street dress with yellow and white accessories. Both had orchid corsages. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the American Legion home. Those serving at the reception included the Mesdames Fred McDougal, Fred Dellinger, Gayle Ainsworth. Jerry Wiederholt, Robert Auriti, Frank Akins, Otto Huebner, Mike Schlemmer and Leslie Marquardt. Following a honeymoon trip of undisclosed destination, the couple will be at home in Indianapolis. The new Mrs. Barnard is a graduate of Monroeville high school and Elkhart University and is employed as a medical secretary at the Fort Wayne medical lab. Barnard is a graduate of Cowan high school and Ball State Teachers College and is employed as an industrial arts teacher.

Kenneth Watkins Is injured By Fall Kenneth Watkins, Adams Central school teacher, and assistant director of the Decatur Community Center, suffered an injured ankle when the scaffolding on which he was working at the center toppled in a high wind Monday afternoon.
