INFORMAL PARTY TO HONOR GRADUATES Mr. and Mrs. Ned Johnson entertained friends and relatives with an imformal party honoring their daughter, Candace, and Miss Fotini Doxastaki, an enchange student from Greece who has been spending the past school year with the Johnsons. Both girls were members of the 1963 graduating class of the Decatur high school. Hie table was set with white candles in crystal holders and red flowers, a cake with purple and gold decorations and the punch bowl contained lime sher bert punch. MISS CYNTHIA CRAVENS HONORED AS GRADUATE Miss Cynthia Cravens, a 1963 graduate of the Decatur high school and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Cravens, 412 Limberlost Trail, was honored Thursday evening when her parents served cake, coffee and mints to the following guests: Mr .and Mrs. Adolph Karrasch of Milwaukee, - - grandmother -of Cynthia, Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Bower. Mrs. Leo Curtin and the honored guest, and the host and hostess. ALLEN COUNTY CLUBS SPONSORING TRIP A sight seeing trip to the Colorado Rockies, Denver and Colorado Springs July 31 to August 6, is being organized under the sponsorship of the Allen county home demonstration clubs and chorus. This seven day tour which is open to the general public will feature sight-seeing in and around Denver, Colo.; a trip to Colorado Springs with a visit to the Garden of the Gods and points of interest in that area; then to Big Thompson Canyon continuing over the Trail Ridge road from Estes Park to Grand Lake. TWO-SCHOLARSHIP WINNER, Miss Rita Norquest, holds up the Indiana University merit scholarship and Jack Dailey scholarship, which she received at the annual awards ceremony Friday at Decatur high school from Pi Chapter, Beta Theta Pi. Indiana University. Principal Hugh J. PAUL FELLER HONORED AFTER GRADUATION Paul Feller was honored at a party following graduation Thursday evening by his parents, The Rev. and Mrs. William C. Feller. The following guests were present Mrs. L. A. LOIS CIRCLE HOLDS RECENT MEETING The Lois Circle of the Decatur E.U.B. church met recently at the home of Mrs. Donna Gehres, with Mrs. Marie Fisher as leader. Scripture was read by Mrs. Emma Barkly with prayer by Mrs. Phyllis Penrod. Mrs. Gehres read about the people in Hong Kong and Mrs. Doris Johnston read about the church in that oriental city. A discussion period followed. A prayJack Lemmon and Lee Remick are starred in “Days of Wine and Roses,” showing Sunday and Monday at the Drive-in theater. Both performers received Academy Award nominations for their acting in this picture. The title song received the coveted Oscar as the best of the year. Mrs. Dan Simmerman and Mrs. Dick Smitley were hostesses. The pink and white color theme was carried out in the decorations, with a large pink umbrella used as a center piece on the gift table. Games were played and prizes won by Mrs. Richard Marbach, Mrs. John Harris and Miss Marcia Perry, who in turn presented the prizes to the guest of honor. Byron Bunker Named Principal At Berne Byron Bunker, who has been principal of the Hartford Center high ■ school the past three years, has been named principal of the Berne-French high school. Bunker succeeds Claren J. Neuenschwander, who has been named superintendent of the Berne-French schools, replacing Earl M. Ohio City Man Is Freed Under Bond Jess Tumbleson, 53, an Ohio City, 0., resident, was released from the local jail this morning after posting $l5O bond. He is scheduled to appear in city court at 9 a.m. Monday. Tumbleson was arrested and charged with public intoxication and leaving the scene of an accident Friday night, about half an hour after a minor wreck. Tumbleson’s- car had struck the guy wires of*an I & M pole in the front yard of the Ralph Gordon residence at 1116 Nuttman Ave. He was found and arrested only half an hour after the mishap. Fined For Failure To File Returns NEW YORK (UPD—State Supreme Court Judge Manuel A. Gomez Friday levied a fine of $2,500 on the corporation which operated the now-defunct New York Titans of the American Football League for failing to file tax returns with the City of New York.
