MISS KRUETZMAN HONORED WITH BRIDAL SHOWER Mrs. Arthur Adam, Mrs. Walter Haines and Mrs. Ralph Ross. Jr., were hostesses Friday evening for a bridal shower, given in honor of Miss Lila Kruetzman, bride-elect of Michael Rauner. Pink and green streamers decorated the table, which was centered with a. bride doll. When games were played, prizes were won by Mrs. Dale Fruchte, Mrs. Walter Conrad, Mrs. Leroy Kolter and Miss Helen Reppert. Also attending were the Mesdames Milton Kruetzman, Milo Rauner, Robert Mank ey, Ted Yoder, Walter Moelleiing, Robert Hildebrand. DELTA THETA TAU MEETS IN SPANGLER HOME The Delta Theta Tau sorority met at the Spangler home Tuesday evening with Miss Mary Catherine Spangler, Miss Rosemary Spangler and Mrs. Robert Durbin as hostesses. The meeting opened with the Delta opening ceremony, conducted by Mrs. Jerry Bixler, president. Mrs. John McConaha reported for the rummage sale committee; Mrs. Lyle Mallonee for the nominations; Miss Rosemary Spangler on Goodfellows; Mrs. Henry Neireiter for the welfare committee. The meeting was closed with the Delta closing ceremonies. Games were played with everyone winning a prize. The door prize was won by Mrs. John McConaha. The tables were appropriately decorated with spring flowers in crystal bowls; place mats, napkins and coasters were in pastel shades when the delicious dessert and coffee were served by the hostesses, assisted by Mrs. Spangler. Clever umbrella cupcakes marked each place. The next meeting will be a business meeting with election of officers at the home of Mrs. Leo Teeple, May 14.

Society. In the account, Tuesday, of the golden anniversary open house to be held Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Bieberich, 927 Dierkes St., there was an error. Their son, Robert, given as deceased, is living; the name of the deceased son is Louis. The Eta Tau Sigma sorority will meet Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock, in the home of Mrs- Joe Rash; Miss Florence Brandyberry will be hostess. The 39ers will be entertained by 12 members of the Ladies of the Moose lodge and will have these ladies as their guests when they have a carry-in dinner at the Community center, Tuesday, at 6:30 p.m. The Zion Lutheran mother-daugh-ter banquet will be held Wednesday, at 6 p.m., in the parish hall. The Evangeline circle, Zion United Church of Christ will meet with Mrs. Harold Bohnke, Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. The Calvary Ladies aid motherdaughter dinner will be held Wednesday, 6:30 p.m., in the Country Charm restaurant. The Women’s Missionary council of the Assembly of God Church will hold a rummage sale Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Decatur Hatchery, Monroe St. The proceeds from the sale will go into the treasury of the local Women’s Missionary council, an arm of the Assemblies of God church, organized to help foreign missionaries, home missionaries, and the local church. Officers of the local group are, president, Kathleen Deaton; vice president, Joan Meyer; secretary-treasurer, Marie HustonThe Pythian Sisters are reminded to make their reservations for the dinner to be held as part of their 53rd convention of the 4th district which will be held May 9. The Adams Central Music Loyalty club will have its annual business meeting and election of officers immediately following the spring concert, Friday, in the school. All parents and friends of Adams Central music pupils are invited to attend. May School Concert Here Friday Night The program for the annual May concert by the Decatur high school mUfiic department was announced today by Miss Helen Haubold, vocal music director, and Richard M. Collins, band director. The concert will open at 8 Friday at the Decatur high school auditorium. Admission will be sth cents for adults and 25 cents for students. Band and choir members are selling the tickets, which may also be purchased at the door Friday night. Five different music organizations will be featured on the program. As an added feature, the 60 voice high school choir will make its first appearance in the new choir robes. The program follows: Part I Junior high school- band — "Here Comes the Parade,” by Weber; “Go Down, Moses,” Negro spiritual; "Crime Does Not Pay,” novelty; "The Challenger,” by Weber. Part H Freshman-sophomore chorus — “God of Our Fathers,” by Warren; "Down by the Riverside," by Jordan; “Little David, Play on Your Harp,” spiritual; “Falling in Love with Love,” by Rodgers; accompanists, Rebecca Lord, Carol Hoverman. Locals Mrs Ray Fager, Sr., of Dunkirk, mother of Ray Fager of Decatur, suffered a heart attack Wednesday night, and is hospitalized in Portland, where her husband died Tuesday. Mrs. 0. K. Baker, of 213 Rugg street, suffered a heart attack Wednesday afternoon, and was admitted to the Adams county memorial hospital this morning, where she is expected to be a patient for several days. No visitors are allowed. Mr. and Mrs. David Myers will leave Friday far a week’s vacation in Bermuda. Girl Scouts Troop 576 Our troop 576 met Tuesday afternoon at the Southeast school. Dues were taken and we said the pledge to the flag and the Brownie promise. We started on our mother’s day projects. Then we played a game, and Becky Hakes brought the treat Scribe, Sherry Hurst.

MRS. FRIEND IS HOSTESS TO ROOT TWP. CLUB The Root township home demonstration club met at the home of Mrs. Royal Friend. The president, Mrs. Fred Kunkel, opened the meeting by leading the group in a repetition of the club creed. Devotions were given by Mrs. Russell Fleming and the song of the month was presented by Mrs. Ralph Rice. With Mrs. Fred Kunkel accompanying, the group sang the song, written by Paul Dressier, “On the Banks of the Wabash.” 1 Twenty-one members answered roll call with “A good spring tonic.” The constitution and bylaws were read by the secretary, Mrs. John Magley, who also read the reports and they were approved. Mrs. James Moses gave the treasurer’s report. Announcements were made concerning the county picnic to be held June 27. The lesson, “The flower garden,” was given by Mrs. Leo King, Sr. The meeting closed with the members repeating the club collect. The door prize was won by Mrs. Harold Owens. Two children were present. Refreshments were served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Robert DeLong and Mrs. Otto Spregel. Births At the Adams county memorial hospital: Fred and Patricia Flanagan Williams, Berne, became the parents of a baby boy, weighing 6 pounds and 11 ounces, born Wednesday at 5:06 p. m.
