Adams Central FFA Banquet Thursday The 11th annual Adams Central FFA banquet will be held Thursday Evening at the Adams Centra! school cafeteria, Martin Watson, instructor, announced today. Ron Schwartz will be master of ceremonies, and the Rev. Vernon Riley wil give the invocation. Ron

Dr. John Coster, of Purdue university, will speak on "Things not learned in school." Awards will include the soils
award, dairy award, crops award, livestock award, records award, Lions club award, Decalb award, by Chris Iniger, Pioneer award, by Martin Habegger, gilt award, by Howard Habegger, and chapter star farmer award by Forrest Tucker; and the honorary farmer degree. Principal Philip E. Souder will make some remarks, and the new officers will be installed. Closing ceremonies will be held.

20 Years Ago Today April 24, 1943—Layke Scherry, teacher and coach at the Monmouth high school for the past four years, has resigned to enter U. S. army service. Die Gecode club will bold its annual Easter party with a dinner and program at the Masonic hall. Mr. and Mrs. Amos Ketchum and Mr. and Mrs Vaughn Millikan attended the commencement exercises and alumni banquet at the Geneva high school. The state tax board will conduct a hearing here April 28 on additional appropriations asked by Adams county. Miss Betty Jean Williams, of near Deactur, has enlisted in the Waves, women’s auxiliary of the United States Navy. Area Youth For Christ Rally Is Held Here The first Decatur area Youth for Christ' rally was held Saturday night at the First Baptist church. The service was led by Jerry Mitchel. Glenn Habegger was in charge of the singing, Jim Borchers made the announcements, and a special number, sung by the S & H Brothers quartet from the Church of the Nazarene was enjoyed by all. About 125 young people and adults enjoyed the showing of the film "Goal to Go ” The film clearly showed the responsibility Christian young people have in their school, the necessity of making Jesus Christ the Lord of their lives. The next Decatur area Youth for Christ rally will be held Saturday. May 18, at the Decatur Church of God. The next rally will feature the showing of the film "Teenage Rock,” along with a song service and special numbers. COURT NEWS Declines Jurisdiction The defendant filed an answer to the amended complaint in the divorce case of Barbara J. Andrews vs Max F. Andrews. Judge Myles F. Parrish of the Adams circuit court declined jurisdiction end nominated a panel of three judges, and gave the parties involved five days in which to strike two, with the remaining nominea to serve as special judge. Nominated were Judge Burl V. Whiteman of the Jay county circuit court, Judge Homer J. Byrd, of the Wells circuit court, and Judge Dale Myers, of Allen Superior Court No. 2. Motion Filed A motion for a pre-trial conference was filed in the divorce action of Ellen L. Death vs Dale Death. A motion to produce books and records was filed, and on a motion by the defendant, the motion to produce books and records was set for hearing April 29 at 2 p. m.
