St. Mary's Catholic church was the scene. Saturday at 10 a.m., of the wedding of Miss Kathryn R. Kessen and Pfc. Ernest L. Hanni. The parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kessen. 315 North Third St.; Mrs. Gregg Zimmerman and the late Vincent Hanni. The double-ring vows were heard by the Bev. John Gillig, cousin of the bride. The Blessed Virgin Mary’s altar was graced with vases of Easter lilies and white chrysanthemums. The nuptial mass was sung by the men's choir, with Mrs. John Girard as organist. The bride, given in marrage by her father, selected a gown of schiffli embroidered, pure silk organza over taffeta. The mold; ed bodice was fashioned with a self-bound, scoop neckline and short, shirred sleeves. The skirt fell to a chapel train. The bride’s bouffant veil of pure silk illusion was caught to a crown or orange blossoms. She carried a cascade arrangement of a purple orchid with white roses. The maid of honor was Miss Carol Kessen, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Joyce Kessen and Miss Eileen Kessen, also sisters of the bride. The honor attendant appeared in a gown of light blue silk organza. It was street length, fashioned with a stoop neckline, short sleeves, and the bouffant overskirt was caught in front with a self-fabric bow. A headpiece of petals and seed pearls with a very bouffant veil, matching her dress, completed her costume. Bridesmaids wore identical costumes and all the at-

tendants carried bouquets of white and blue chrysanthemums. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Kessen chose a pink sheath dress of pure silk with white accessories; the groom’s mother wore a navy blue print outfit and white accessories. Corsages of white cymbidium orchids were worn by the mothers. Melvin Hanni was his brother's best man. Ushers were Rick Gillig, cousin of die bride, Dr. William Gillig, uncle of the bride, and Thomas Sefton. A wedding dinner followed the ceremony for 30 guests in the Fairway restaurant. A reception for 100 guests was held from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Youth and Community center. The main table was laid with a linen table cloth, skirted in light blue net, and there was a fivetier wedding cake, decorated, with white flowers. The attendants’ flowers decorated the table at each end. Those who served at the reception were Mrs. Dale Burkhart, Mrs. Melvin Hanni, Mrs. Mary A; Loshe, and Mrs. Walter Reiter. The bride’s going-away costume was a pink and white print dress of pure silk with pink accessories, and she wore the orchid from her bridal bouquet. The bride is a graduate of Decatur Catholic high school and is employed by the Lincoln’ National Life Insurance Co.; the groom was graduated from Decatur high school and is serving in the United States Marine Corps. Following a trip to the west coast, the couple will be at hottie at Oceanside, Calif., after April 28.
Society TRINITY BIBLE CLASS MEETS THURSDAY The Trinity Bible class of the E.U.B. church met in the social room of the church Thursday, and 19 members were present. Mrs. Emma Barkley, president, presided during the business meeting. Flower bills were allowed; a $5 memorial was given for Mrs. Gladys Hakes. „ Mrs. Flossie Hower read the scriptures, John 16:7, Luke 24:50-53, 53, and Acts: 1:1-11. A lesson was given on Jesus’ last day on earth. Prayers were offered by Max Andrews and Mrs. Nellie Krumen. A social hour was enjoyed, during which delicious refreshments were served by Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Gilpin, Mrs. Josephine Weldy and Mrs. Nelie Krumen. 0. N. O. CLUB MEETS WITH MRS. BULMAHN The O. N. O. home demonstration club met at the home of Mrs. Willis Bulmahn for its April meeting. The president opened the meeting with the reading of the club creed. Sixteen members answered roll call with "a good spring tonic.” Devotions were given by Mrs. Carl Menter. The song leader gave the historyof the sang of the month, “On the Banks ot ihe Wabash,” after which the group sang the song. “Keep your home fall free” was the topic presented by the health and safety leader. Announcements were made concerning the county picnic to be held June 27 and the Purdue conference on June 11, 12, 13.
An interesting lesson, “Home Flower Gardens,” was presented by the lesson leaders, Mrs. Paul Busse, Jr.' and Mrs. Don Menter. Information, on plant requirements, location of garden areas planning the garden area, careful consideration of the area to be planted, and soil preparation and care was given. The vice president, Mrs. Don Werling, presided over the lesson planning for next year. Reservations for the mother-daughter party are to be made at the next meeting. The meeting was closed with the club prayer. During the social hour games were played with prizes going to Mrs. Willard Fawbush, Mrs. Don Haines, Mrs. Don Jeffery, Mrs. Bill Lister, Mrs. Jim Merriman, and Mrs. Don Werling. Mrs. Werling was awarded the door prize. Secret pal gifts were received by Mrs. Roy Bieberich, Mrs. Bill Gildner, Mrs. Morris Krueckeberg, Mrs. Carl Menter, Mrs. Don Menter, Mrs. Merle Terhune, and Mrs. Don Werling. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Carl Menter, May 8. The group recently enjoyed a tour of various factories in Bluffton. Mrs. Herman Durr and Mrs. Bill Golden were the tour committee. The Tuesday meeting for the Delta Theta Tau sorority has been postponed until the following Tuesday, April 30, Miss Rosemary Spangler will be the hostess. The Decatur chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the organization's founding, Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. |A banquet, in which the three local chapters will join for the occasion. will be held at the Elks home. Thirty-two years ago the first chapter of the sorority was formed in Abilene, Kan. There was now 7,000 chapter and 150,000 members in fourteen countries. In addition to the banquet, traditional ceremonies will be oserved. Die history of the local chapters will be reviewed and the new members will receive their first welcome to membership. Mrs. Dale Hake is serving as chairman of the founder’s day banquet. Mrs. Jerome Keller has been selected for the honor of presenting a special message from the sorority’s founder. Wedding vows were repeated by, Miss Marlene Ruth Bultemeyer and Richard Allen Duffey at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, in the St. John's Lutheran church. Baskets of gladioli and pink carnations adorned the altar, and the double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Edwin A. Jacobs. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Bultemeyer, route 1, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Duffey, 1003 Woodview Fort Wayne. The wedding music was provided by organist and vocalist William Uffellman and vocalist, Miss Mary Lou Krauss. Given in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a floorlength gown of white de luna peau, designed by her friend, Miss Garnita Schuemann. The front was trimmed with seed pearls on white flower appliques, and the skirt extended to a chapel train. A crown of pearls held her veil of French illusion and she carried a bouquet of shell-pink roses. Miss Kay Bultemeyer, the bride’s sister, was her maid of honor; the bridesmaids were Miss Roslyn Bultemeyer, sister of the bride, and her cousin, Mrs. Kenneth Hockemeyer. The attendants’ street-length dresses were of jade green shantung, styled with round neckline, with rosettes and a vee !

The delegates to the grand chapter will give reports. The Adams unit 43 of the American Legion auxiliary will meet Friday at 6 p.m., in the Legionhome. There will be a carry-in dinner. The fourth district president, Mrs. S. Bauer, and the secretary- treasurer, Mrs. T. C. Smith, will give reports. Each member is to bring a covered dish and own table service. Meat, rolls and butter will be furnished. A business meeting will follow the dinner.

A graduate of Monmouth high ' school, the new Mrs. Duffy is employed by the Lincoln National Life Insurance Co., Fort Wayne. The groom was graduated from New Haven high school and is employed by the Fort Wayne post office. The couple will reside in New ' Haven.
The Monroe W. C. T. U. will meet with Mrs. TeFrona Floyd, Thursday at 1:30 p.m. The St. Vincent de Paul society will meet in the C. L. of C. hall, Wednesday at 2 p.m. Pat Hoopingarner will be hostess to the Nu-U club, Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Members are reminded to bring white elephants. The Women’s association of the First Presbyterian church will have a mother-daughter dinner at 5:30 Wednesday. Those attending are to bring table service and a covered dish. All the wcrmen are urged to come, even without a guest to bring. Miss Fotoula Doxastaki, Decatur’s foreign exchange student, will be the speaker. The program will be of interest to all ages. The Mary-Martha circle will serve as hostess for the evening. The Cootie auxiliary will meet tonight in the V. F. W. home, at 8 p.m. The Town and Country home demonstration- club will meet with Mrs. Cyril Becker, Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The Ruth and Naomi circle of the Zion United Church of Christ will meet, Wednesday at 2 p.m., in the church parlors. The active Tri Kappa sorority will meet with Mrs. Charles Gable, Tuesday at 8 p.m. Mrs. Nellie Price will be hostess to the Live and Learn home demonstration club when it meets Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
