Cancel Out Van Wert 'Music Man' Showing There will be no production of "The Music Man” in Van Wert, 0., Gene Ziner, president of the Decatur Junior Chamber of Commerce, announced this morning. Ziner explained that due largely to a conflict in dates when the show could be presented in that city, there will be no performance slated for the Ohio city. The local Jaycees had discussed the possibility of a production with the Van Wert Jaycees, and tentative dates were set and a contract was prepared between the two organizations. There were many other conflicting dates for other programs in the Van Wert high school auditorium, where the show would have to be held, which forced cancelling any plans for further performances. Ziner explained that the local Jaycees regretted the cancelling of negotiations with the Van Wert Jaycees for at least two performances of the show, but that after many problems arose, there was no other alternative. Each member of the cast and company of the show, which was presented here on March 29 and 30. had been contacted, and the company of nearly 100 were almost unanimously in favor of presenting the show in Van Wert. Ziner again gave the thanks and appreciation of the entire Jaycee organization to those who were connected with the show here. Hospital Mrs. Ollie P. Mills, Decatur; Mrs. Lula Ashbaucher, Decatur;

Claims Dredging In Dunes Illegal PORTAGE, Ind. (UPI) — Removal of sand from the site ,of Indiana’s proposed deepwater harbor was scheduled to begin today as Army Engineers studied a complaint that the operation was illegal. The complaint was filed Monday by Leonard Rutstein, attorney for the Save the Dunes Council which claimed that dredging activities at the site illegally exceeded the limits of the original permit granted by the engineers. The dredging was for an outer harbor to permit barges to reach a sand conveyor system for transfer of the sand on barges to Northwestern University for use in a 70-acre campus expansion project. . L Officials of Bethlehem Steel Co., which previously announced plans for. a $250 million steel plant in the area, announced Monday that dredging had been completed. About 2% million oubic yards of sand will be transferred. Announcement of plans to remove the sand stirred up a controversy several months ago. Northwestern at that time tried unsuccessfully to withdraw from a contract for the removal in the light of protests that the operation jeopardized the dunes, eyed by conservationists as a national lake shore monument. Castro Planning To Visit Khrushchev HAVANA (UPD—Premier Fidel Castro will go to Russia some time this year to “discuss matters of common interest’’ with Premier Nikita Khrushchev, Cuba’s official press reported today. A brief official release headlined by government . controlled morning papers did not give the date or other details of the proposed visit, saying they would be worked out later by representatives of the two governments. The official statement said the visit would "strengthen friendship between the peoples of the Soviet Union and Cuba.” It said Khrushchev invited Castro to Russia because he wants him to know the country. Castro has not left Cuba since 1960, when he, Khrushchev and other chiefs of government went to New York to attend the opening of the U.N. Geeral Assembly. The bearded revolutionary has been invited to visit a number of foreign countries, but so far has not acted on any of these invitations.
