Eyes on the Bunny Did you ever watch the eyes of a youngster when he sees an animated cartoon? The anthropomorphic actions of comic characters of animals really thrill the primitive instincts in each of us. Wednesday evening we rode around with Tom Lutes in his old truck, which has a large four-foot Easter bunny in bright pink mounted on the hood. It was quite interesting to watch the looks of amazement, interest, or wonder in the faces of those who noticed the overgrown Harvey coming down the street. Little children lit up like 200-watt bulbs as the truck approached, and their minds worked overtime as they jumped up and down, apparently anticipating immediate motion on the part of the rabbit. Many waved to the rabbit, their eyes glued upon him, perhaps awaiting a returning nod or glance. Occasionally, an approaching driver would almost wander out of his driving lane as he watched the big bunny coming at him, pink ears in the air. Many turned to stare. From the sidewalks, parents directed their children’s glances, and several carloads of children nearly tipped over as the kids all rushed to one side of the vehicle to see the rabbit. Older youths gave passing, somewhat incredulous stares or quizzical looks of wonderment. While some adults with young hearts stared and smiled, many seemed not even to notice— a good sign that their attention was directed at other thoughts than of children and Easter. , The old Easter bunny still has a magical effect on those who take the time to see him —a strengthening of faith, of interest, and sort of "Spring spirit” enters you when you see the joy of little children at Easter-time. The serious, saving message of Easter reaches an important crescendo this weekend, but we cannot help but think that Jesus’ heart would be with the happy little children, whose faith and belief was given as the model for those who would follow the Master. There is joy in the resurrection of Easter following the pain and heartaches of Calvary.

NUCLEAR (Continued from Page One) factors to indicate that a leak rather than the pressure of water may have caused the disaster: —Before it went into the Portsmouth, N.H., naval shipyard for overhaul last July, the Thresher had dived many times to the depth at which it was last heard from. —During overhaul of the sub, it was necessary to cut a hole about a yard wide in its hull, in order to get at some machinery. The hole was welded back in place, and the weld was examined by X-ray for flaws. ‘‘To the best of our knowledge and belief there were no defects in the work,” he said. ‘‘Whether or not there were in fact defects LEGAL NOTICE ADMINISTRATOR’S SALE OF REAL ESTATE Notice Is hereby given that the undersigned SEVERIN H. remains to be seen.” No Sabotage Evidence Anderson said that “of course” the possibilities of sabotage or enemy action in connection with the tragedy would be investigated. But he said there was no evidence of either, and the main investigative effort would be to determine whether the vessel collapsed or sprang a leak. There are now 10 ships and eight patrol planes in the search area, Anderson said. This force probably will be reduced. He estimated that It would take four days to get the Trieste across the country on flat cars and more than a week to place it in operation in the Atlantic. No Danger to Sea Vice Adm. H.G Rickover, chief of the Navy’s nuclear branch, has assured him there was no possibility of radiation contamination of seawater as a result of the disaster, Anderson said.
