He said Munn is still a director. Cameron, a 1950 graduate of Michigan State, said the first meeting between Bueeieri and the former Spartan football coach was an accident. Cameron said he knew nothing about any gangland ties Buccieri might have because “I’m so busy I aon’t have time to" read anything except the sport pages ” Munn said a year ago .he was introduced to Buccieri as a “furniture man.” He said the second meeting occurred when Buccieri was in East Lansing to visit his son, Kenneth Buccieri, a sophomore at Michigan State. In 1951, Buccieri figured in the investigation of the attempted bribe of a University of Oregon football player by Frank Rosenthal, a Miami, Fla., gambler. The Miami investigation revealed that Rosenthal, since indicted by a North Carolina grand jury on charges of attempting to fix a college basketball game, made a number of telephone calls to Buccieri before the Miami bribe attempt. The American said Buceieri’s older brother, Fiore (Fife), is a Crime Syndicate "enforcer.” Chicago police, the newspaper said, believe the brothers work together in gambling and loan shark rackets.

Orioles, Reds Win In Major League Openers By TIM MORIARTY UFI Sports Writer You won't be able to tell the players without a scorecard today when baseball’s other 18 major league teams—featuring a multitude of new faces—attempt to catch up with the Baltimore Orioles and the Cincinnati Reds. The Orioles and the Reds were first out of the gate Monday. President Kennedy was among 43,022 fans who watched Baltimore turn back the Washington Senators, 3-1, in the nation’s capital while the Reds bounced the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-2, at Cincinnati. Nine additional openers are on today’s schedule, including a pair of night games. The Reds will help the Phillies launch their season under the lights at Philadelphia. The other night game will find the Los Angeles Angels entertaining the Boston Red Sox. Yankes Visit A’s In the other American League openers, the world champion New York Yankees visit the Kansas City Athletics, the Detroit Tigers host the Chicago White Sox, and the Minnesota Twins entertain the Cleveland Indians. The San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are expected to battle it out for the National League pennant again this year, open on the road. The Giants visit the Houston Colts and the Dodgers play the Cubs at Chicago. The Pirates launch their home schedule against the Milwaukee Braves and the New York Mets, who lost a record 120 games in their initial season last year, open at home against the St. Louis Cardinals. More than 70 players changed Uniforms during the off-season as every team except Minnesota completed a trade involving at least one key player. SEC Committee To Study Butts' Case BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (UPD—The executive committee of the Southeastern Conference will take a look into the Wally Butts-Paul Bryant case, Commissioner Bernie Moore said Monday. But Moore declined to say when and where such a meeting will be held. Moore has given lengthy aetails on conference football procedure to Georgia Atty- Gen. Eugene Cook who made an investigation after the Saturday Evening Post said that Butts, while University of Georgia athletic director, telephoned Georgia football secrets to Bryant, coach at Alabama. Both Butts and Bryant have denied that vital information was given in the telephone call and Butts has filed a $lO million libel suit against the magazine. Moore said he will “use all the evidence I have” at a meeting of the executive committee. He said Cook had made his files available for the SEC study but has not so far actually given him any material. In his summary of his investigation, Cook concluded that Butts gave Bryant team secrets that could have affected the outcome of the game, which Alabama, a 17-point favorite, won 35-0.
