Nine Traffic Deaths Recorded In Stale By United Press International Indiana counted nine fatalities within a period of hours today, increasing the state’s 1963 traffic toll to at least 249 compared with 228 a year ago. Two young persons were killed on U. S. 20 in Michigan City early today in a car»truck collision. The victims were Richard Cordray. 18, the driver, and Jackie Helm, both of Michigan City. John Thompson, 22, Michigan City, another passenger, was injured. Authorities said their car went out of control at high speed and smashed into a truck operated by Roland Snyder, 62. May wood. 111., Snyder was not hurt. Alexander Ewing, 49, Indianapolis, died this morning in a capital city hospital from injuries suffered about 24 hours earlier when he was struck by a motorcycle driven by John Rhodes, 30, Indianapolis. Six names were added to the death list Wednesday, the last being that of AUen Keller, Jr., Grand Rapids, Mich., who was kiUed when he walked in front of a big truck on U. S. 35 at Muncie. Mrs. Monica Alabrudzinski. 7S, Gary, was kUled by a car as she tried to cross a street* jammed with persons watching a house bum in Gary Wednesday, night. Mrs. Addie Macklin, 71, LaGrange. was killed when a car driven by her husband collided with a state police car. Her husband, Ancil, 71, and the trooper were not injured seriously. The accident happened at the intersection of Indiana 5 and a county road near Shipshewana. Donald R. WiUis, 15, Indianapolis, was killed when a stolen car he was driving went out of control on the west side of Indianapolis and rammed a-tree. — — Authorities said Winfred Slader, 35..
