The Church Invites You Lent is considered a time of opportunity for spiritual refreshment and growth. It is a time when we attempt to discover and to discard obstacles to spiritual progress. The degree of self-discipline, fasting and abstinence has been stressed less in recent years in favor of positive forms of devotional practice — prayer, Bible reading, meditation and worship. It should also be a time for the replacing of bad habits with good ones, the healing of broken relationships and the performance of acts of unselfishness. Lent is a time of spiritual growth enabling us to better understand God’s word, dedicate ourselves more completely to Christ and in his service. The church is the house of God where one may find spiritual refreshment and inspiration for daily living. WHY NOT ACCEPT THE INVITATION AND COME TO CHURCH NEXT SUNDAY?

A HAPPY HOME Some of the foundations essential for a truly happy home are first of all character which is made up of sincerity, moral integrity, honesty, and solid ideals at life. Character is what a man is inside when he is alone, the test of wh sicit hwha test of which is what one would do if he knew he would never be found out. A second foundation tor the home is love, the kind of love that is a self-commitment without reservation. It involves loyalty and a determined purpose to put first the best interests of those loved. It has capacity for growth and brings out the best, not the worst, in people. Love is demanding as well as rewarding. A third foundation tor a happy home is trust. Suspicion and mistrust destroy all hope of human happiness. Trust depends on character and love, but both character and love are destroyed in the absence of confidence and trust. The fourth essential foundation is a sense of responsibility, important to the strength and well-being of the home. Worthy family membership demands cheerful acceptance of responsibility and a feeling at each for all and all for each.
