treasurer’s reports were read. It was decided that the auxiliary would hold a Tupperware party at the fire station April 29, inviting the public to attend. The remainder of the evening was spent. {Haying a game with prizes being awarded to the winners. The hostess served a very delicious lunch. AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY MEETS Miss Margaret Eiting, Americanism chairman, was in charge of the program for the social meeting held recently for the Adams unit 43 of the American Legion auxiliary. Miss Eiting read an article on "Prayer can save America.’* A playlet, "Which America,’* given by Mrs. Frank Bohnke, Mrs. Howard Eley and Miss Eiting. Pinochle and bridge were enjoyed during the scoial hour; prizes going to Mrs. R. C. Hersh and Mrs. Wilson Beltz for pinochle, and Mrs. Dee Fryback for bridge. Miss Eiting and Mrs. Herbert Lengerich served lovely refreshments to the 15 members present.

BOYETTES TOUR WESTERN EUROPE VIA RUDES The Decatur Soyettes held their March meeting Tuesday evening in jhe main Office building of the Central Soya company. Gladys Keller, chairman, introduced Dr. J-.L. Krider. vice president of public relations of Central Soya, ,ahid'.his wife. Dr. Krider then took the Soyettes on a tour of Western .Europe ~via the camera rouse. His slides pf Scotland, Norway, .Denmark, Western Germany. {England, Holland, France, Spain and were very beautiful. Each slide seemed to be mere enchanting than the previous one, whether It was of hillsides, cathedrals, Waterways, flower gardens pr the European Soya plants. The entire land o I Western Europe to-1 tals only one-third of the land of foe United States, but has a population of 300 million people. Dr. Krider ended his tour with a slide of S breathtaking sunset, and the members realized foey were at the sunset of foe meeting. Dessert and coffee were then served foe guests and members from a handsomely decorated table. “The wearing of foe green,” or’St Patrick’s day theme, was - Druetzler, personnel manager of Decatur Central Soya, and his wife were guests. DeArmond is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold DeArmond, Berne, route 2. The couple _ is planning an April 6 wedding in the Monroe Methodist church. A graduate of Adams Central high school. Miss Sanders is employed by the Lincoln National Life Insurance company in Fort Wayne. Her fiance was graduated from Berne-French high school and is employed by the International Harvester company, Fort Wayne.

Danny Coomer, and Ricky Rider; Susan Ritter played the accordion and Darlene Dettmer was vocal soloist. A comet quartet from Adams Central, John Geimer, Gary Gerber, Tad Wulliman, and Richard Gerber, played “Marche Militaire.” A letter from “Cousin Leroy” was read by Mrs. Leo Sheets, who presented a ’gator-tippet and sang a duet with it much to foe surprise of the audience. A snoring and whistling contest was held for the visitors and was an amusing success. Birthdays were celebrated for those having birthdays during the month of February. Mrs. Ella Scherry, guest pianist, played for the various games, birthdays and accompan-j ied Mrs. Sheets for the evening hymn. The Gray Ladies of foe American Red Cross served as receptionists and assisted in serving foe . refreshments following the proi gram. The film and camera for taking pictures of the talent show were furnished by Tom Briede of 1 > Briede studio. The next talent show will be ! held March 31 at 7:30 p. m. The show will be composed of “Karen and foe Caroms” and the ladies ’ of the Moose lodge in Decatur will ’ present “Queen for a Day." A boys’ puartet from Adams Central r will also take part. MISS KRISTINE FUELLING, a freshman at Monmouth high school, is a candidate for the office of recreation leader of the northern district of Indiana, Future Homemakers of America. If elected, Miss Fuelling’s duties are to provide good recreation for all the district meetings. Each chapter, to be an honor chapter, is required to send a candidate's name for office. A nominating committee then chooses the slate of candidates. Miss Fuelling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fuelling, is active in 4-H work, the church league and the local F.H.A. chapter. There will be 13 members from Monmouth attending the spring district meeting March 16 at Union City high school, in addition to Miss Fuelling.
