FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE MEETS FRIDAY EVE The Friendship circle of the Decatur Missionary church held its January meeting Friday evening in the home of Mrs. Norman Hart. Mrs. Edward Summers greeted the twelve members present. Mrs. Charles Tumbleson led the group in singing, “Trust and Obey.” Devotions were given by Mrs. Lloyd Reef, who read II Corinthians 5:17-21. Mrs. Jack Rayer offered prayer. Roll call was answered with “My pet peeve at home.” The circle project tor this year is "Odds and Ends” in connection with the new building addition. Mrs. Grover Caudle offered closing prayer. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Vernon Abbott and Mrs. Grover Caulle. The next meeting will be February 22 with Mrs. Merrill Johnson. ROOT TOWNSHIP CLUB HAS JANUARY MEETING The Root Township home demonstration club observed guest night at its January meeting Tuesday. Members and their guests met at the Monmouth school for a potluck supper. A variety of games and contests were led by Mrs. Leo King, Sr., and Mrs. Florence Susdorf. Door prizes were awarded to Nevin Miller, Robert Johnson and Richard Moses. interest lesson, “Flowered Hats,” which is to be held Tuesday, February 19. It will be at the Farm Bureau Co-op building in Monroe from 1 to 3 p.m. Hat supplies are to be purchased at the extension office, February 6 at 1 p.m. The special meeting at Huntington February 25 and 26 was also announced. The next meeting will be held February 26 in the home of Mrs. Florence Susdorf. Assisting her will be Mrs. Russell Fleming and Mrs. Wiliam Susdorf. The Monroe W.C.T.U. will meet Thursday at 2 p.m. with Mrs. James Nussbaum. Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., the Gray Ladies of the Red Cross will meet in the I & M Building. Mrs. Lloyd Ahr will be hostess to the Historical club Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Town and Country home demonstration club wil meet Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. with Mrs. Herman Heimann. There will be installation of officers at this time. The Leah circle of the Decatur E.U.B. (Trinity-Bethany) church will meet Thursday evening at 8 o’clock with Mrs. Kenneth Gaunt, 503 Limberlost Trail. Vocalist Lyman Hann sang “The Lord’s Prayer,” “Wedding : Prayer,” and “O, Perfect Love.” I; Parents of the couple are Mr.' and Mrs. James Wall, 303 Limber-, lost Trail, and Mrs. Nathan Nel-J son, 217 South Seventh St., and the late Nathan Nelson. Given in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a gown of bridal taffeta: The molded bodice featured a scalloped, scoop neckline, and sleeves tapering to points at the wrists. The scissor-cut skirt was accented with a front panel of lace and matching lace appliques were scattered over the bouffant chapel train. A large, self-material rose, touched with sequins and pearls, at the waist, accented the back fullness. A matching pillbox, highlighted with seed pearls, ■ held her bouffant veil of silk lusion. of white roses with white and yellow chrysanthemums. Miss Sue Vickrey, Dayton, 0., was maid of honor, and Miss Charlene Wilde, Villa Park, 111., was bridesmaid. The attendants wore identical dresses of brilliant green peau jolie, styled with scoop necklines and elbow-length sleeves. Their bell-shaped skirts were accented with small, tailored bows, and tailored bows embellished their pillboxes with maline bouffant veils. The attendants carried white fur muffs to which were attached yellow and gold chrysanthemums. Rachelle Spaulding and Leslie Freeby were flower girls. A brown silk dress, with, black and brown accessories, was chosen for her daughter’s wedding by Mrs. Wall. The groom’s mother wore a beige silk dress with beige accessories, and both mothers wore corsages of yellow roses ; David Butcher, Anderson, stood as best man while those ushering were Ronald Hesher, Robert Nelson of Sarasota, Fla., and James Nelson, both brothers of the groom. For the reception at 7:30 p.m. in the Decatur Community Center for 250 guests, a three-tier cake, candelabra, and bouquets of white, gold and yellow chrysanthemums decorated the table. Nelson, Miss Cheryl Ashbaucher, and Miss Judy Rhodes. For her wedding trip to New Orleans, the bride was wearing a pink wool suit dress with white hat and black accessories. After February 3, the couple will be at home at 217 South Seventh St. The bride is a graduate of Valparaiso University where she was a member of Kappa Psi Omega sorority and the groom attended Ball State Teachers College. He is presently dispatcher for the Decatur police force.
