If you do not at- * tend anywhere regularly, we invite you to visit us soon. I The Church • Invites You * “The cure for communism lies in a more effective Christianity," E says Frederick Olert. “Communism is the devil’s latest substi- ' tute for the Christian concept of the Kingdom of God. Christianity ' is based on love and is distinguished by stewardship. In the Christian context, we must provide for all mankind a better measure of security, without robbing them of their freedom. Clear thinking. I forthright action, and sacrificial living will be required.” The ; church proclaims the teachings of Christ providing for real justice, , real freedom and the brotherhood of man. WHY NOT ACCEPT THE INVI- : TATI ON AND COME TO CHURCH ; NEXT SUNDAY? THE BETTER WAY Dr. L. Wendell Fifield has said ' the following regarding our modern concepts of right and : wrong: “New definitions of right and wrong are gaintag many adherents today. Right is defined as ‘anything one can get away with.” Wrong is ‘anything at which you are Hkely to getcaught’Of course, these definitions are disguised. The most freguent disguise is the word 'expedient* An action is justified on the ground at political expediency, business exped iency, the expediency that ‘everybody is doing it.' These new definitions of right and wrong are a great danger to personal and group life. They overlook the fact that right and wrong are absolutes, that their meaning is inherent in the very nature of life, that right is the acceptance of God’s will while wrong to tts dental. They reflect ‘wish thinking* rather than sound thinking.” AHANYHOMt Many people have justifiably expressed indignation over the lack of courtesy prevalent today. So many clerks in stores, ticket ■ agents, bus drivers and others in public service, seem to have little ’ interest in those who approach ! them or ask questions and whom they are expected to serve. One wonders if politeness is no longer ' taught by parents. Politeness is definitely Christian and is reflected in the lives of those of refinement, gentleness and patience. People who rarely smile are inclined to be impatient and discourteous. Politeness smooths out wrinkles and is evidence of Christian culture. Someone has said that polite- - aess is like an air cushion: there may be nothing in it, but it eases t our jolts considerably. Christian parents should realize the impori tance of teaching politeness to 1 their children and they should see that courtesy is practised at all - times. Christ was the first great Gentleman of the universe.
