When there is to be a supper for the bridal party after the wedding rehearsal at the church, is it necessary to invite the clergyman and his wife? A. If you know the- clergyman well, you may invite him and his wife. This is not, however, necessary. Q. I escorted my wife and a woman friend of hers to a social function recently, and upon arriving I assisted the woman friend first with her wraps. My wife said I was out of order, that I should have helped her first. How about this? A. You did the proper thing. Q. When one has already given a gift to a newborn baby, and is then invited to the christening, is one expected to bring another gift? A. Free Grain Sorghum Seed Is Available Free grain sorghum seed, to plant wildlife food plots in Adams county, will be available again this coming year. Woodrow Fleming, director of fish and game, announced today. During this past year, Adams county had more than 150 people taking part in the program, with very fine results, Jack Hurst, area conservation officer, said today The program is designed to give game birds and animals the food that they need quickly and with no interference to normal farming operations. Two Kinds Mixed • This seed may be planted on any farm that is participating in any of the governmental agricultural conservation programs. The grain mixture will consist of 2% pounds of Early amber sorghum and 2% pounds of Texas 610 variety. These two sorghums are recognized as two of the best grain foods for the wildlife. Landowners who are interested in helping wildlife will be eligible to receive this seed. Wildlife biologists consider two one-eighth acre food plots adequate to supportwildliiu cm the average 160-acre farm. Landowners with larger acreage will be eligible for more seed on this basis. This grain will be sacked in a white cloth sack and full instructions will be on the back of the sack. Two Cautions Two things, Fleming said, will insure a good yield from the mixture: 1. It is very important that on poor soil all grain plots should be fertilized. 2. Do not plant too thick. Five pounds is enough, to plant onequarter acre if broadcasted or drilled with a wheat drill. If planted with a corn planter, it will plant one acre. Usually more seed is produced where planted with a corn picker and cultivated. Last year, the 4-H clubs cooperated whole-heartedly with the program, and were largely responsible for its success. They will be taking part again this year, Fleming stated. If you have something to sell or trade — use the Democrat Want ads — they get BIG results.
