CLERICUS SAYS CLERICUS SAYS: Christian love can only be seen in our attitudes and conduct toward others. When divine love functions in our lives, it recognizes in all men their true worth as children of God. Christianity alone exalts the concept of love and makes it the central theme of a good life. Love is a consuming passion for the highest good of another. Love is the only sufficient foundation for life and happiness. Christ came to reestablish love in human life. There is no true religion apart from the loving heart. Christianity demands both a man’s mind and a man’s j heart.

The Church - Invites You Science and invention have greatly improved the material and physical conditions under which we live, but the improvement of our environment does not necessarily improve us. The ability to fly to the farthermost parts of the world in hours, to bring the whole world into the living room through television, to put man into orbit in outer space, do not ..in themselves make us better. They neither bring us nearer God nor make us more Christlike. In fact, absorption in them often tends to make us more worldly, selfish and. material-mind-ed. The greatest challege we face as individuals and as a society is that of creating improved ends to properly utilize these improved means. The church directs our minds to eternal values. WHY NOT ACCEPT THE INVITATION AND COME TO CHURCH NEXT SUNDAY? A HAPPY HOME One of the greatest needs today is warmly spiritual, deeply committed Christian homes — homes where love really is demonstrated in every human relationship, where parents take their responsibilities sg-iously gnd where, families demonstrate strength, stability and loyalty to their church 'and community. The Christian home is one in which there is order and quietness, where the art of meditation is cultured so that every member of the family can have the inspiration of a time alone with God. Parents need to set the pattern for the next generation so that they may have a real sense of spiritual values. The need for better home lisp is evident as we note the delinquency and crime rate among youth who have not had the love, understanding and guidI ance to cause them to make better use of their lives. >

I -'iJLrtftl I ' One Sunday morning a man entered the church and sat down near the front with his hat on. Noting the man, one of the ushers spoke to him, asking him if he knew he forgot to remove his hat. "Yes,” the man replied, "I realize I have my hat on but I’ve been coming to, this church for two months and this is the only way I could get anyone to apeak to me." Lesson Prayer LESSON PRAYER: Dear Fattier, we thank Thee for the gift of eternal life as the prize and goal of all human life, which we may begin while engaged in our daily duties on earth. May we appreciate the fact that eternal life is Thy gift to men, bestowed on the basis of a divine human relationship which comes through faith, resulting in a life of hope and assurance of the fulfillment of the deepest longings of the soul. Grant that we may become dead to false loyalties and alive to eternal values.
