Mound City Farmers Turn Down Proposal MOUND CITY. S.D. (UPD — Mound City farmers said today they have rejected a “peace plan” by Asst. U.S. Dist. Atty. Travis H>M»gwin to recover illegally held Agriculture Department records here. They said they would continue to resist any efforts by the Justice Department to recover the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation records barricaded in a former ASC building. Attorney Morris Myers, Aberdeen, representing the. farmers, ; said he delivered the rejection to Lewin at Aberdeen Wednesday night. Lewin headquartered with U.S. marshals at Aberdeen and mapped strategy for seizing the records. The “peace plan” listed nine “points and was tendered by Lewin, Myers said, as a final hope for compromise in the controversy. He asked the farmers to maintain order while marshals picked up the records. The plan asked the people not to be within 200 feet of the building when the marshals arrived. It said owners of the abandoned ASC building must be present to be served the legal orders to surrender the files. Myers said Lewin pledged to drop any action against the buildIndianapolis Livestock INDIANAPOLIS £UPI) — Livestock: Hogs “6?800? barrows and gilts very uneven, steady to mostly 25 lower, later and closing mostly 25 lower; uniform 190-225 lb 17.00■17.50_; 59 head 17.65-17.75; bulk 180-225 lb 16.50-17.25; 225-240 lb 16.00-16.75; few 17.00- 240-270 lb 15.75- uniform ‘240-250 16.2516.75; 270-300 15.5016.00; few lots 16.25: 300-330 lb 15.00-15.50; sows steady to 25 lower; 300-400 lb 13.50- few 14.75; 400-60 lb 12.75Cattle 600: calves 50; not enough steers or heifers to fully test market; few sales steady: high choice steers 30.00; good 26.50- high choice heifers 29.00: high good and Choice 27.25; good and choice 24.00-27.00; one package igh choice mixed steers and heifers 29.00; cows steady; utility and commercial cows 13.C0-14.50; 14.50; few 15.00: canners and cutters 12.00-13.50: high cutter 14.00; bulls scarce; few sales 50 higher; utility and commercial bulls 18.00.19.50; high yielding utility 20.00; not enough calves to test market. gheejp 600: lambs steady; choice and mixed ehoice and prime wooled lambs 18.50-20.00; good and choice 16.00-18.50.
