Davis, Portage, Ind., object of a two-state search by the Civil Air Patrol, was found dead Friday in the wreckage of a twin-engined plane he was not qualified to fly. The wreckage of the Cessna 310 was found by two hunters in a heavily wooded area 12 miles i north of here. It was scattered over ah area of more than 800 square feet. Indiana CAP authorities said Davis was not qualified to fly the aircraft, which he had purchased Monday, and had not been chec’ked out on the controls by a qualified instructor. Authorities said Davis left Gary, Ind., Municipal Airport early Wednesday. He did not file a flight plan and there was no radio contact with him after his departure. Davis, who was manager of a trucking firm at Gary, had only enough fuel for a 4>4 hour flight. He was believed to have left Gary for St. Louis, Mo., and the search Friday was concentrated along the 30-mile wide air corridor from Gary to St. Louis. The Bathtub The daily job of cleaning the bathtub is a little easier if you use a long-handled brush, made especially for this purpose, and water containing trisodium phosphate or washing soda. For a thorough cleansing, use whiting or a mild scouring power, plus water softener if the powder does not already contain it. Coarse cleaning powders scratch the porcelain enamel finish, and ma*k it more difficult to clean.
