ing of $30,000, has been lowered to $18,500 to the city, which is thinking strongly of purchasing the building for a new city police department. Mayor Donald Gage explained to Schwartz that the council had been unable to meet recently to discuss

the new price, but would do so and possibly make a decision in the next two weeks. Mrs. John E .Brown, 703 N. Tenth St., appeared at the meeting, and requested some stone on Dayton street, across from the Northwest elementary school. The area had been torn up when a sewer was recently constructed, and the council instructed Adolph Kolter, street commissioner, to put some stone around the area. Light Petitions Also discussed were two petitions one asking street lights at the intersection of N. Second street and Lewis Drive, and lights at the end of Lewis Drive; and another requesting a light constructed on the barn on 12th street, in the alley just north of Monroe street. The council also talked over certain areas in the city which may be made into no-parking zones, mostly for the benefit of the fire department. No action was taken on the zones. One of the pictures showed a pilot reading a newspaper in flight, and another showed a stewardess sitting on a pilot’s lap.
