Trip Coming Up During our trip August 12-September 3, we hope to visit with a number of Adams county people, or former county people, who are now in the areas we will visit. Today we received word that Ralph B. Thomas, who is serving in the Peace Corps in Manila, The Philippines, hopes to be back there, and able to visit with us when we arrive. Yuichi Nishimura, the Japanese youth from Tokyo, Japan with whom Jack Daily stayed while there on a summer exchange student program, and who later visited with the Daileys in Decatur, plans to meet with us and help us around the huge city of Tokyo. We should be able to get a more realistic view of life there through his eyes than through just our own. In Hong Kong, the Rev. Gerald L. Wilson, state director of CROP, has made arrangements for us to meet with the director of the Church World Service program in that troubled area, Elbert E. (Pearly) Gates, Jr. We understand that at least one worker with the Mennonite Central Committee is in that area, and we hope to send back some pictures of the work that our Adams county dollars, and volunteers, are doing on the world front. The people-to-people program, which is encouraged by the government but entirely privately supported as far as finances are concerned, hopes to make the world aware of the real America. In addition to the editor and his wife, Ward Calland is just completing a similar trip to Russia, and Robert Sprunger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sprunger, is planning a similar trip to Russia this summer, all part of the people-to-people program. Editorial Writer Today Dick D. Heller, Jr.
