La Grange County Hassle Continues LAGRANGE, Ind. (UPI)— Two members of the LaGrange County school reorganization committee resigned Friday, claiming that the county’s reorganization plan had becorile embroiled in politics. James Ellsworth of Milford Twp. and Loran Moeler of Van Buren Twp. quit Friday, one day after LaGrange Circuit ■ Judge Donald Hunter fired the committee chairman and another member, In their letters of resignation, Ellsworth and Moeler said they were quitting because “political pressures have been brought to bear on school reorganization in the county.” Hunter had fired William H.McKinley, committee chairman, and Mrs. Glen Rowe, Thursday. McKinley’s notice said he was being dismissed “in the interest of harmonious and complete reorganization of the schools.” Hunter appointed William Chester Gohl, Topeka, and Harry E. FoA Sr., LaGrange, to replace McKinley and Mrs. Rowe on committee. Prominent Dentist Is Suicide Victim FRANKLIN, Ind. (UPI) — Dr. Lennis Murphy, 41, a prominent dentist, shot himself to death. Friday at his home here. Murphy died in an Indianapolis hospital Friday night several hours after he shot himself in the left temple with a .32 caliber revolver. Johnson County Coroner Jack Walters ruled the death a suicide. Department Store Sales Increased CHICAGO (UPI) — Department store sales in the Seventh Federal Reserve District, which includes Indiana, ran 2 per cent above the comparable period for both 1960 and 1961 last week. The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago said Friday that nationally sales were up 4 per cent compared with the same week last year. >. j Jefersonville Man Electrocuted Friday JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (UPI) —Mack Lynch, 50, Jeffersonville, was electrocuted Friday while using an electric drill on a dock at his home on the shore of the Ohio River. Authorities said Lynch was standing in about three feet of water when the drill apparently developed a short circuit. His son discovered the body a short time later.
