To Replace German Ambassador To U. S. BERLIN (UPl)—West German chancellor Konrad Adenauer indicated today that Wilhelm Grewe, embassador to the United States, will be replaced. Asked at a news conference if Grewe would be recalled because of reported differences with Washington on the Berlin problem, Adenauer said, “When complications arise the innocent must suffer. I must add that I value him Very highly.” Reports from Washington have said that relations between Grewe and the State Department have become so bad that the State Department is bypassing the German embassy and dealing directly with the West German Foreign Office in Bonn. The rift was said to have been caused by Grewe’s disagreement with the American plan to settle the Berlin problem that has been submitted to the Russians in talks in Washington. Adenauer did Ttn say in so many words that Grewe was being recalled but he made it clear he would be replaced.

(UPI) — Bronzed Arnold Palmer, golf’s golden boy, today appeared headed for complete domination 6f the touring professional circuit. With the Tbumament of Champions crown added to his illustrious record Sunday, Palmer now has won three of the last four tournaments in which he competed. So far this year, he has won the Palm Springs Classic, Phoenix Open, Masters, Texas Open and this rich one, which brought his money-winnings for a little more than four months to $52,308. Not since Byron Nelson won 18 tournaments, 11 of them in a row, in the war year of 1945, has one man so dominated the tour. Ben Hogan couldn’t do it; neither could Sam Snead. The lean battler from Latrobe, Pa„ plays in the Colonial at Ft. Worth, Tex., this week. And he wants to win that one, too. “But the one I’m really thinking about now,” he says, “is the National Open. I want that one real bad.” He won it once before—and the chances favor him again this year. Palmer didn’t exactly run way from the field in the Tournament of Champions. In fact, he won It by one stroke from big Bill Casper. But it was a typical Palmer —
