Q. I am a widow of eight years and have been wearing my original wedding ring. Now I’ve become engaged to marry again, and have been presented with a new engagement ring. Am I supposed to discard my old wedding ring? A. I think, in all fairness to your new husband-to-be, you should remove your first husband's ring. Q. When a man is taking a girl to a nightclub, should he escort her to their table before excusing himself to go to the men's room? A. Yes. It is the girl's privilege to go to the powder room first, but the man should always get his companion properly seated at their table before leaving herQ. May one pour gravy from the gravy pitcher, or must one always use a gravy ladle? A. If there is a ladle in the pitcher, user it. If, however, no ladle has been provided, it is quite proper then to pour from the pitcher. Q May a formally engraved invitation be properly acknowledged on the typewriter? A. Never; always answer formal invitations by handwritten note.
