ACADEMY OF FRIENDSHIP MET RECENTLY The Academy of Friendship met at the Moose home recently for their October meeting. Chairman, Mrs. Wilford Plasterer, conducted the business meeting while Mrs. Oran Schultz acted as secretary. Nine members and one guest answered to the roll call.No minutes were read dire to the absence of the secretary. A social hour followed the business meeting and contests were in charge of the hostesses, Mrs. Oran Schultz and Mrs. Mel KrepS. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostesses to the members present and their guest, Mrs. Orland Miller, senior regent of the Women of the Moose. VFW AUXILIARY HAS INSPECTION RECENTLY The VFW auxiliary met recently at the post home, with 18 members and one guest present. The meeting was called to order by the president. Mrs. Theodore Baker, followed by the reading and approval of the minutes. Fourth district president, Mrs. James Hall of 857 auxiliary, Fort Wayne, was introduced, . after which she conducted an inspection of the local auxiliary. National home chairman, Mrs. Ray Ballard, reported on some projects that the auxiliary and post are holding for national home. William Grant is the VFW national home chairman. Membership chairman,. Mrs. Robert Butler, urged all members to pay their! dues as soon possible so that the' local Jadies group ‘ can win the I membership trophy. A goose supper will be held November 18 with all the proceeds | to be presented to Decatur Post 6236 for the building fund. The meeting closed with the retiring of the colors, to reopen November 6. Mrs. Don Reidenbach was awarded the door prize and delicious refreshments were served by Mrs. William Grant and -Mrs. Mary Hileman. The executive committee of the Women of the Moose will meet tonight at 7:30. The K. of C. auxiliary will meet Tuesday evening after church for a masquerade party. Husbands and guests of members are invited. The Historical Club will meet with Mrs. Henry Adler Wednesday at 2 p.m. Mrs. TeFrona Floyd will be hostess to the Monroe WCTU, Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

Builders class of the Trinity EUB church will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Hobby Ranch House in Fort Wayne. Reservations must be in tfv Tuesday evening, with Charles W. Kent or 0 Sephus Jackson. In an impressive candlelight' ceremony, Miss Gloria Elaine Koeneman became the bride of Arthur K. Muselman, Sunday, at 6:30 p. m. in the Zion Lutheran church at Friedheim, route one, Decatur. The Rev. A. A. Fenner, assisted by the Rev. W. J. Luecke of Cleveland, 0., received the double ring vows before the altar! graced with vases of yellfew and; white mums. Beauty vases , of yellow and white pompoms, candelabra with yellow candles, white bows and Oregon fern also decorated the church. White bows with Oregon| fern marked the pews. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Koeneman, route two, Decatur, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Muselman, 517 E. Main street, Berne. Music for the ceremony was provided by Mrs. Elfurt Blomenberg, vocalist, singing “Take Thou Their Hands” and “Wedding Prayer.” Mrs. Wilford Rafert, organist, presented the musical selections, “Jesu. Joy of Man's Desiring,” “Let Us Ever! Walk With Jesus,” “Oh, Perfect! Love,” ”My Heart Ever Faith-; ful,” “Saviour Like A Shepherd Lead Us,” and J'Largo.” Escorted to the altar down a! white carpeted aisle by her fath-j er. Miss Koeneman appeared in: a bridal gown of peau satin! fashioned in a princess style, with long sleeves tapering to noints over her hands. Alencon lace motifs embroidered with clusters of pearls and rhinestones edged the scoop neckline with the detail being carried over the bodice and front panel of the bouffant skirt. A large pouf bow accented the waist back ending in a chapel length train. The fitted bodice was fashioned with a scoop neckline and elbow length sleeves. A taffeta cummerbund accented with a self material ,rose’circled the waist. Each wore a headdress of matching velvet and carried a cascade arrangement of gold, bronze and rust mums with natural wheat Miss i Ann Steury, flower girl and niece of the groom, was attired in- a dress identical to _the other attendants with the exception of hers being styled with short puff, sleeves. She carried a small cas-| cade arrangement gold, bronze and rust mums accented with natural wheat; , Mrs. Koeneman chose to wear; a dress of nylon organza over! taffeta in shades of dusty rose: and moss green for her daughter's wedding. Her ensemble was complemented with black accessories. Mrs. Muselman wore a brown crepe dress and beige accessories/ Both mothers were wearing white orchid corsages. Carl Muselman served his brother as best man and groomsman was Clinton Steury, brother-in-law of the groom. Guests wore seated by Roger Koeneman, brother of the _ bride, Meredith Sprunger, Charles Nussbaum and I Frederick Lehman. To serve the couple’s guests at j a reception at the Decatur Youth : and Community Center were Miss Lois Folk of Berne, Miss Vera Mushrush of Indianapolis, Miss Legora Markle, Fort Wayne and Mrs. Alton Christianer of; New Haven. George Stergiou of Chicago was in charge of the I gifts. The Community Center was I beautifully decorated with the: bridal colors of peacock and fall! colors. Flanking the table were beauty vases of yellow and white pom poms. The bride is a graduate of Concordia Lutheran high school* Fort Wayne, and is employed in the county agricultural extension office in Decafur.
