them at the proper time, and she arranges the bride's train when she turns from the altar for the recessional. Q. Is there such a thing as being •‘fashionably late" at social functions? A. I should call this "fashionably rude!" One should always arrive at the appointed time, or at least never more than about 10 minutes late. Q How should a person introduce his half-brother and halfsister 0 A. If he wishes to be in best taste, he will introduce them simply as "My brother” and "My sister." • O O | Household Scrapbook I t By ROBERTA LEK i K ; o About Painting Os course ther are a good many reasons for repainting the walls and ceilings indoors—but one good, beneficial reason is often overlooked its healthfulness, Painting kills germs. Keep that in mind if you’ve been putting the chore off. Outdoor Eating If you don't own an outdoor picnic table, try winding some cellulose tape around the tops of adjoining legs of two or more card tables.. Thus you can improvise your own picnic'fable, and it will serve your purpose admirably. Meat Economy Don't burn away costly roasts! Never sear a roast at high heat or pou’ll be cooking away a good part of it as surely as if you had lost part of it on the way home from market. Loose Wallpaper If some of your wallpaper comes away from the wall, mi* a thin paste of flour and water ‘which can be picked up in a medicine dropper. If the bulge is at a seam, gently lift edge of paper with a paring knife and squirt paste underneath. If the bulge Is in the middle of a sheet of-paper, puncture the paper at the top of the bulge so that the tip of the medicine dropper can be inserted. Rub the area gently with a damp sponge or cloth to smooth the paper and remove excess paste. Musty Containers Should the jars or bottles you wish to use for preserving have a musty odor, fill them with cold waler in which soda has been dissolved. This will soon freshen “them. Wash in hot water and suds, rinse well, and they are ready for use.
