Societu The Queen of Peace Study club t will meet with Mrs. Frances Koors Thursday evening at 8 o’clock. « There will be a joint organization meeting of the Union Pals and , Union Workers Thursday evening ; at 7:30 at the Emmanuel Lutheran school. Krick, who has been making his home with his son, William, at Lima, stumbled while descending the stairs and fell, breaking his right shoulder. James Heimann In School Glee Club RENSSELAER. Ind. — James A Heimann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril E. Heimann of 515 Nuttman Ave., Decatur, is among 75 glee club members practicing at St. Joseph's college, Rensselaer. Heimann, a freshman, is a 1960 graduate of Decatur Catholic high school, where he lettered in basketball and was co-editor of the school newspaper. Merchants Warned Os Counterfeit Bills Decatur merchants are warned to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills, as one Decatur merchant ‘received a phony S2O bill last week. The serial number on the bill was Q74732433A in a 1950 series B. There are also reportedly counterfeit S2O bills with serial number M 7621790 a being passed. Adams Central Bands To Perform Saturday During the half-time of the Warren game Saturday night in the Adams Central gym, the bands of Adams Ventral will give a short marching performance. The senior, junior, intermediate, and beginner's bands, with the 4th grade song flute band as a special attraction, will use Valentine Day as their theme. More than 300 Adams Central students will participa tejn this annual event. Soup Supper Friday At Adams Central A soup supper, sponsored by the Adam> C. ntral P T. will be held frofr. 5 to 8 p.m, Friday at the Adams Central high school. Included in the menu will be oyiter soup v cake, pie and hot dogs. Auto Stolen Here Recovered At Lima ■ Floyd Thorpe, Cridersville. 0., will be prosecuted for the federal dyer act, transporting a stolen vehicle across the state line, in federal court, after he was found to have stolen a car in Decatur last Friday belonging to James Klenk. Monroe. Thorpe, AWOL from the Marine Corps, had abandoned the car on a street in Lima, 0., where the police recovered the vehicle. They later nabbed Thorpe as the thief. Klenk reported the vehicle stolen last Friday afternoon. He had parked it across from the hotel in the morning and went to work When he returned in the afternoon, however, the car was gone. The vehicle was not damaged and will be Released when Klenk picks it up. JAYCEES (Continued from page 1) is a program whereby a community uses its own brains to introduce the top students in high school to the various sciences. This program will have various local engipeers chemists, doctors, and soil and plant experts presenting lectures to the top students on their respective fields, and then giving the students the chance to ask questions. In future years,'it is hoped to expand the program to include many of the county schools. Coining Programs All members of the Jaycees are encouraged to be present at the second general membership meeting this month on Tuesday, February 21. The program will consist of a gentleman who has done considerable work in the field of hypnotism. Besides telling of the various uses of hypnotism in the future, he will also give a demonstration. It was decided last night that the leadership training program will be held after the first general membership meet in g of each month, and that a program of general interest will follow the second membership meeting. The meeting in March will feature the sound film of last year’s 500-mile race in Indianapolis. All members were asked to bring in at least one prospective member to the next meeting. There have been so many worthwhile projects brought up for discussion that new members are needed to help carry them out.
