Retails Tax Forms For 1960 Returns The three tax forms provided for Individuals in filing their 1960 federal income tax returns were explained today by Sterling M. Dietrich, director of internal revenue fair fartiana Dietrich said the following requirements are furnished to aid taxpayers in selecting the form that best suits their needs: Form lO4OA—This is the easiest form if a taxpayer is eligible to use ft. One of the special features \ is that if his or her income is less ' than $5,000, he or she can choose to have the internal revenue service figure the tax. He or she may use this form if: 1. His or her gross income was less than SIO,OOO, and 2. It consisted of wages reported on withholding statements (Forms W-2) and not more than S2OO total of other wages, interest, and dividends, and 3. He or she wishes to take the standard deduction (10% of his or her income) instead of itemizing deductions. Form 1040 W — This is the new stfealined form. A taxpayer may use thi storm if: 1. His or her income consists of salary, wages and similar compensation regardless of amount, and 2. Not more than S2OO of dividends and interest, and 3. Nb other items of income. Form 1040—This is the regular four page form which may be used by an individual (except a nonresident alien) regardless of the source or amount of his or her income. “If you have any other questions about your federal income tax return, telephone your local internal revenue office at A-7426, Fort Wayne, Ind.” Dietrich advised.
