Grant Street Sewer Work Is Suspended Work on the Grant street sewer extension, which has temporarily blocked Grant street from the Southeast school west several blocks, has been temporarily suspended because the ground is frozen solid, Mayor Donald F. Tax Evasion Charged To Fort Wayne Man FORT WAYNE. Ind. (UPI)--Morley Wenbert, a Fort Wayne manufacturer, was free on $3,000 bond today pending arraignment on a federal warrant charging failure to pay $56,696 in taxes due for the years 1956 to 1959. Wenbert was arrested Tuesday on a three-count indictment. He is the owner of the Indiana Textile Co. U.S. attorneys said Wenbert re-

ported taxable income of $37,164 in the years 1956, 1957 and 1958 but had a true income during the period of $142,249. Lone Gunman Sought For $2,300 Robbery HAMMOND, Ind. (UPI)--A lone gunman, who apparently knew his victim well, was sought here today by police after he had robbed a service station attendant of an estimated $2,300.

Two Injured Last Night In Accident Two Decatur residents suffered injuries and shock in a two-car accident which happened on N. Second street at 7:13 p.m. Tuesday. Janet Elaine Miller, 17, 104 N. Ninth street, was driving north on Second when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a car parked at 1104 Second. The car was owned by Betty Elaine Friedley, 35, 1127 Nuttman Ave., and a passenger sitting in her car, Mrs. Robert O’Shaughnessey, received a possible back injury and was taken to the hospital. Miss Miller also was taken there as she was suffering from shock. About $150 damage was done to each auto. Another accident occurred at 6:36 p.m. on N. Thirteenth street, with no injuries and only minor damage resulting. Michael William Schultz, 17, 1727 W. Monroe street, was traveling north on Thirteenth when he struck a car in front of him which was driven by Billie C. Waldrop, 32, Quincy, O. Waldrop was attempting a right turn wnen he was hit by Schultz. Damages were listed at $50 to the Schultz car and $30 to the Waldrop vehicle. 20 Years Ago Today Jan. 4, 1941--Owners of carrier pigeons in Decatur have formed a new club called the “Flying Aces.” Officers are Robert August, president; Arthur Braun, secretary, and Gerald Lichtensteiger, treasurer. Members of the Decatur fire department and auxiliary will hold a banquet next Wednesday at the fire station, with city officials and policemen as guests.
