The big cast includes such stars as Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop, Cesar Romero, Angie Dickinson and many more. Tonight the Decatur Drive-in theater closes for the season. O - Q 20 Years Ago Today o — o Oct. 1, 1940—Mrs. C. Arthur Ross, formerly of Geneva and Bluffton, and her husband, a U. S. Air Force captain, were killed when Ross' plane crashed in South Carolina. Approximately 200 truck loads of sugar beets were delivered to the Central Sugar Co. plant today, with plant operations to start within two days. The Research club held its opening meeting tea at the home of Mrs. Leonard Saylors. Ralph E. Roop and Roy Mumma, Decatur, and O. N. Smith, Berne, have been named as heads of the Adams county draft board. The Detroit Tigers defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 7-2, in the opening game of the 1940 World Series.
