The White Sox president forecast a late season surge for JiiS club like that of the 1959 Los Angeles Dodgers and said hi? team would be an excellent bet "right now” for longshot players who relish long risks. "We’re two and a half games out right now,” he said, after Wednesday’s 6-0 loss to the New York Yankees. “At this time last season, the Dodgers were six games out and tho’ won the pennant. We can do the same thing. “The White Sox ought to be about 6 to 1 right now.” he said. “Bet ’em If you want to make some money.” Oueen Mary's Sailing Cancelled By Strike SOUTHAMPTON. Eng, (UPD— Three hundred crewmen walked off the Cunard Line's Queen Mary today, forcing cancellation of the 81.000-ton ship’s sailing. A spokesman for the line said the luxury liner would not sail tonight for New York as scheduled. The crewmen left the giant Cunard liner and its 1,000 passengers to join an unofficial seamen’s strike which has tied up ships in British ports since Wednesday.
