Thomas officiated at the double ring, candle light ceremony which united in marriage Miss Agnes Jean Barlett and Fred Allen Miller Saturday, July 23, in the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church, followng a muscale by Miss Eleanor Miller. Miss Barlett is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Barlett of 314 Oak street, Decatur, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Miller, of route 3, Decatur, are the parents of the group. Given in marriage by her father. Miss Barlett appeared in a ballerina length gown of crystal taffeta with a scooped neckline and fitted belt bow at the midriff. The gown featured three-quarter length sleeves and a full watnT length shkirt.* She wore a short veil of'illusion with a crown of French braid and seeded pearls and carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations. A red rose corsage from her bridal bouquet completed her outfit. Mrs. Miller is a graduate of Decatur high school and is employed at General Electric Co. while she attends Fort Wayne Commercial College. Her husband is a graduate of Monmouth high'school and is also employed at General Electric Co. while he attends the Duty Technical Institute in Chicago, m. - The couple will reside at 509 W. Adams street in Decatur. White gladioli and mums provided the floral setting for the double-ring wedding ceremony of Anna Marie Miller and Richard Frederick Callow, which took place at 10 o'clock this morning in the St. Mary’s Catholic church, with the Rev. Robert Jaeger officiating. Music for the reciting of the nuptial vows was provided by Mrs. Rita Girard, organist. The parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Herman J. Miller of 1221 W. Monroe street, Decatur, and Mr. and Mrs. -Stanley T Callow of 904 S. Ninth street, Decatur. Escorted to the altar by her father. Miss Miller appeared in a white nylon organza gown fashioned with a round neckline edged with leaves. The leaves extended down the front of the bodice to the waist in file form of a V. Tie t same leaf pattern was featured ' in four long strips down the skirt. 1 The gown was finished with short ' gathered leaves. She wore a t white crown headpiece of sequins r and pearls and carried a bouquet 1 of pink crysanthemums and a • white orchid. Parrish were bridesmaids, wearing gowns identical to that of the maid of honor. Tie mother of the bride appeared in a blue and grey floral summer print with white accessories, while the groom’s mother chose a beige and white embroidered dress, also with white accessories. White orchid corsages completed their outfits. Edward Drum served as best man and ushers were John Kintz and Robert Gase. A dinner party of 28 gathered at the Fairway at noon and the reception will be held from 3-to ' 7 p. m- at the K. of C. hall. Deci orations will consist of pink bowls - and wedding bells. Canned foods are being accepted at the VFW post home, 127 North Third street, for the aid of his expectant wife and three children. The post home is open after 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Arrest Youth For Reckless Driving Robert J. Martz, 16, route 6, Decatur, was arrested for reckless driving early this morning. Martz was arrested at 1:10 a.m. on 13th street and will appear at 2 p.m. August 6. Erects Telescope, Open Here Tonight M. J. Stephens, who resides at Saddle Lake, has erected a powerful telescope on the corner of Jefferson and Second streets, at the, Al Schmitt service station. The telescope was erected last night and will be open to the public tonight. For a small charge anything in the sky may be . brought up close, such as stars, moon, etc. Auction School To Open Here Monday Tie summer session of the Reppert school of auctioneering will open Monday at the school. The course will include training in all phases of auctioneering such as voice training and salesmanship, techniques of selling fqrniture, automobiles, general farms, antiques, and tobacco. The school will dose Friday, August 19, with graduation ceremonies. Tie school, which is owhed by Dr. Roland L. Reppert, will offer training which will include local auctions in Decatur and Berne. ; There are two sessions, winter ; and summer, and last year’s sum- ' mer session had 80 students en- ' rolled. . < I 1 Increase Proposed ■Berne city officials have proposed budgets calling for a 59cent increase in taxes for that city, ' Richard L. Lehman, city clerktreasurer, said today. The 1961 tax rate for Berne, as proposed, would be $1.73, compared to $1.14 this year. This is the first budget to be drawn by the new Republican city council of Berne. A total of $1.67 is proposed from the general fund, and six cents from the recreation fund. Proposed street improvements, purchase of new equipment, loss of revenue from the Berne auditorium, and higher prices generally were blamed for the budget

A petition for probate of will and issuance of letters was filed. The affidavit of death and proof of will by subscribing witnesses and the certificate of probate were filed. The bond was filed in the penal sum of $2,000. The bond was then submitted and approved. A verified petition to transfer the automobile was filed. The said automobile was ordered transferred to Janet L. Ellis. The last will and testament of Harley J. Reef was ordered to be probated and placed of record. The petition for .probate of will and issuance of letters was filed. The affidavit of death and proof of will by subscribing witness and the certificate of probate was filed. The bond was filed in the penal sum of $4,500. The testamentary letters were ordered issued to Ella Reef, and were then reported and confirmed. The final report of the Lawrence C. Scheiman estate was filed. The notice was ordered issued returnable August 26. The final report showed a total value of $11,028.90. The report of the sale of term products and automobile of the Otto J. Bieberich estate was filed The order and report of the sale of the farm products and automobile was also filed. Proof of mailing of notice to all persons interacted in the matter of the final settlement of the Mabel Yoder estate was filed. Proof of publication of notice of appointment was filed. Proof of publication of the final settlement was filed. The certificate of clearance was filed. The final report was submitted, examined, and approved. The executor was ordered to make, the final distribution in compliance with the final report. To Ronald Yoder went the sum of $2,838.16. To Roger 8., Marion K., and Thelma M.
