The usually normal looking senior class and even the faculty appeared in appropriate costume for the I beatnik theme. The students, in accordance with ! the theme, partook of their food while reclining on mats which covered the floor of the gymnasium. F&lowing the "banquet”, a very interesting program entertained the company The program consisted of : a number by Josie Smith and his bep cats, or Joe Smith. Janice Heemstra. Jean Huffman, Mike Kaehr. Kay Wynn, and Jack Daily: Connie Kiess - reading of a poem, accompanied by Larry Sheets on the bongo drums: a dance by the Cool Kittens, in normal life Jan Aumann. Dee Schroeder. Barb Burk. Alice Allwein, Becky Maddox, and Kay Stoppenhagen; a piano selection by Eleanor Miller, entitled "Yankee Doodle, George Gershwin style”: a skit called "Little Bop Riding Hood,” with Diane Rhodes portraying Little Bop, Jerry Mclntosh as Harry Hot Lips, and Chuck Krueckeberg as Horace High-note; and a spelling bee between the Beats from Beatsville. or the students. and the Squares from /Squaresville, or the faculty, won by the Beats. At the conclusion of the program Larry Sheets appeared on the scene to demonstrate his selling abilities. He sue-' .. ceeded in ridding himself of three garbage pails, all to members of the faculty or school board. Kay Stoppenhagen acted as hostess, with Rosie Flora assisting. CHTBCH MOTHERS HOLD INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS Eighteen members and fourteen guests were present at the annual Mother's party and installation of officers of the Church Mothers study club held at the Trinity E.U.B. church recently, at which, during a get acquainted period, each lady stated her name and the name of her mother. The meeting opened with the group singing the club song "The Home God Gave To Me Mrs. Arthur Beeler was in charge of devotions, and chose the theme “mother." She selected Proverbs 31:10-20 as her scripture reference. She also read a selection from "Ideals - ' magazine. Mrs. Roger Fruchte and Mrs. William Journay were in charge of the program for the evening. Included in the program were a double reading by the Misses Peggy and Susan Bevelhimer: a clarinet duet by the Misses Rita Spence and Becky Mauller; a monologue. recited by Miss Helen Walters; and for the final selection Mrs. Kenneth Watkins sang a solo. “His Hands.” At the close of the program potted flowers were awarded to the oldest mother present, Mrs. V. A. Eichenberger. to the mother with the youngest baby, Mrs. John Eichenberger: and the door prize was won by Mrs. Stan Kling. Following the program, installation of officers for the 1960-61 year was conducted by the retiring president, Mrs. Edward Summers. The wedding of Miss Sharon Elaine Rybojt and Richard Estel Leming took place at 6:30 pm. Saturday, in the Assembly of God church in Fort Wayne. The doublering ceremony was performed by the Rev. James C. Kofhai. Nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Marilyn Robbins, organist, and the Rev. Tom Trotter, vocalist Mr. and Mrs. Raymond E. nybolt, 3441 Smith street. Fort Wayne, are the bride’s parents, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Leming. 2901 Oliver street, Fort Wayne, formerly of Decatur. The bride was attired in a gown of lace and tulle over taffeta, fashioned with a scalloped neckline and tapered sleeves. Her fingertip veil showered from a scalloped crown, and she held a cascade of pink president, Mrs. John Eichenberger: secretary, Mrs. Raymond Walters; treasurer, Mrs. Charles Chew, and press reporter. Mrs. William Journay. The evening came to a close with the singing of the installation hymn. . ? Refreshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Don Cochran, Mrs. Kenneth Watkins, Mrs. Dick Harvey, Mrs. Milt Spence, and Mrs. Karl Johnson. Miss Lucille Kepp. Mrs. Sue Fell and Miss Shirley Osterman. They held pink and white carnations and matched their gowns with veiled satin bow headpieces. Barbara Bedwell was flower girl and Mike Kofhai carried the rings. Jerry Fell, friend of the groom, was best man. and the guests were seated by Jack Hohn. John Shannon and Richard King.
