COME AR TOC ARE PARTY HELD RECENTLY The Merrier Mondays club enjoyed a "come as you are" party at the home of Mrs Homer Arnold. Jr., recently. Mrs Gene Blume was assisting hostess The lesson on outdoor cookery was given by Miss Lois Folk, and devotions, by Ellen Fry and Cora Barger. The club prayer was recited. after which the citizenship lesson on voting was presented by Mrs. Jim Arnold. Mrs. Irvin Worthman was awarded the door prize. • During the social hour, games were played and group singing, led by Mrs, John Barger, was enjoyed. Delicious refreshments were then served the 26 members and one guest present. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Lamar, with Mrs. Art Adams assisting. • HOME DEMONSTRATION CLUB HOLDS MEETING A meeting of the Jolly Housewife home demonstration club was held recently at the Pleasant Mills school The president, Mrs. Richard led the group in repeating the collect, and Mrs. Murray Holloway read the scripture and led in prayer. The history of the song of the month was given by Mrs. Paul R. Rich, who

MOTHER AND DAUGHTER BANQUET HELD RECENTLY Approximately ITS persons attended the annual mother and daughter carry-tn banquet held recently by the Zion Lutheran Missionary *ocicty. The table* were beautifully decorated with tulip*, potted geraniums and pastel colored candles. The group sang the doxology prececding the meal, and Mm. Richard Mailand gave the table prayer. After welcoming all those attending, president Mm. Norman Kruse, turned the program over to Mrs. Norman Geiger. Walter Zuercher and a group from the Zuercher music store in Berne presented an enjoyable program of accordian and marimba music. He also show- , ed various Items of interest, including a Swiss alpine horn, music box. and several hand carved objects from Switzerland. The group was composed of Landa Allman, Jerry Moser. Priscilla Seidner, Roy Mazelin, and Mrs. Roberj Whisler. Little Miss Renee Busse performed a tap dance number, and Mrs. Richard Mailand read "A Mather s Picture Prayer." Prizes were then awarded. Mm. Otto Bieberich was given a prize for having the most daughters and granddaughters present. Mrs. Frank Aurand was honored for being the eldest mother present, while Mrs. Gail Gerke won a prize for being the youngest mother attending. Mrs. Hugh Engle and Mm. Lee Fleming were the youngest grandmothers at-the affair, and Mm. Catherine England of Florida received a prize for having come the'greatest distance. Laurent, son of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Laurent. 703 North Fifth street, on April 23 in the chapel at Mather Air Force Base. California. _ The chapel’s children s choir presented the musicale. The bride was attired in a ballerina length gown of chantillj lace with a fitted bodice, long tapered sleeves and a sabrina neckline. The bouffant skirt was styled in five tiers of scalloped lace. Her Spanish lace mantilla was a gift of her paternal grandmother, and came from Majorca, one of the Balearic islands off the coast of Spain. She carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations with a White orchid. The matron of honor. Mrs. William Holzknecht. wore a princess style ballerina length dress of pink crystalette, fashioned with a short sleeved lace jacket. A pink lace hat and white gloves, and a colonial bouquet of pink rose buds and carnations completed her outfit. girls in the audience. Those winning prizes in this category were Mrs. Richard Striker, Mrs. Milton Brown, Mrs. Wilbur Fuelling, and Miss Jan Lehman. Prizes of potted geraniums and petunias were -also awarded. Acting as best man was Lt. Monte Hall of Mather Air Force Base. The parents of both the bride and groom were unable to attend. The bride is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W A Klepper and the late Mr and Mrs. David F. Teeple. of this city. After a wedding breakfast at the officers’ club. Mrs. Laurent changed to.a. light blue, suit with white accessories. The white orchid corsage from her bridal bouquet was pinned to her ensemble. The bride is a graduate of St. Gerard’s high school. Lima, O. She received her B.S. degree in occupational therapy at Mount Mary college, Milwaukee. Wis. Until her marriage, she was employed at Riley Children’s hospital Indiana University - medical censer, Indianapolis. Her husband is a graduate of Decatur Catholic high school. He received his B.S. degree in industrial management at Purdue university and is now a lieutenant in the United States Air Force. The couple returned to Sacramento Calif., from their wedding trip on April 25. and are now residing at 3349 Eye street. Fallowing recitation of the . rosary, religious articles were dis- 1 i cussed. The meeting closed with prayer to St. Gerard. A social hour followed and a ■ luncheon was served by Mrs. I Kohne. The door prize was won by Mrs. Andrew Miller. The St. Dominic study club will meet Tuesday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the home of Mrs.’ Charles Keller. - The W. S. W. S. of the Trinity evangelical United Brethren church will have a mother-daugh-ter banquet at the church Tuesday at 6.15 p.m. All ladies of the church are invited. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and table service. Special music will be presented by George McKlennon. A meeting of the Corinthian class of the Christian church will take place at 7.30 p.m. Wednesday in the fellowship hall of the church. Mrs. Adam Kunowich will have charge of the stqdy period, and during the social hour a silent auction will be held. All members are requested to be present and bring a guest.
