FORT WAYNE ACTOR TO SPEAK TO WOMAN'S CLUB The Dramatic Department will have charge of toe program for the closing meeting at Woman * club Monday, at S p.m at the Youth and Community Center Tbm Roland. at Port Wayne will present ; scenes from the current Broadway play. "James Thurber's Carnival," which stars Peggy Cass. Roland has been interested In dramatics all his life and has taken part in productions whenever possible. Before coming to Fort Wayne, he was in the Broadway play. “New Faces of 1957." Since coming to this area, he has starred in a number of plays at the Civic theater in Fort Wayne. Some of these plays have been. "Inherit the Wind," “Who Was j That Lady," and this year, “Ham- [ let" and "Say Darling,” which i was the biggest hit Civic theater has had in several years. Last i year he directed and played in a musical skit, the night of the An- | thony awards. Roland has resided in Fort I Wayne nearly three years and is employed as a buyer in the linen • department at Wolf and Dessauer. Miss Helser, a member *of the Market Street Presbyterian church In Lima, was chosen because of 4>utstandlng leadership in church •Activities as well as scholarship and school activities. Applicants also were required to write short esays on why they wished to make the trip. _ . _ -Miss - Helser wiff leave in July and will participate in a work camp program at Albuquerque and will visit other points of interest in the west.
