Vases of blue and white cama-l tions formed the setting for the marriage April 23 of Miss Rosanne Florence Vodde to Maurice Hubert I Miller. The Rev. William J. Ehrman officiated at the 10 a m. ceremony performed at the St. John the Baptist CathoUc church in New Haven. Music was furnished by Sister M. Louise. C.S.A. and the children’s choir. The bride* is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo B. Vodde. New Haven. Mrs. Casper J. MiUer of near Decatur, and the late Mr. MiUer are parents of the bridegroom. Satin roses formed a bustle Une at the back of the bride’s gown of hand clipped ChantUly lace over satin. The basque bodice was fashioned with long sleeves and a jeweled sabrina neckline and the bouffant skirt feU into a chapel-length train. Her sUk illusion vpU was held by a lace crown and She carried a cascade arrangement of yuletide roses, lUies of the valley, and eucalyptus, centered with a white orchid. Waltz-length frocks of white embroidered nylon with blue cummerbunds were worn by the bride’s attendants. Mrs. Daniel Lengerich. Robert Contant. and Mr. and Mrs Hubert Omlor, all of Decatur f ’ Hostesses at the reception held at the Besancon Hall were Miss Eleanor Harbor, Miss Germaine Ottersweller, Mrs. Lloyd Gremaux, Miss Joan Brown, Mrs. Glenn Pettit, Miss Sharon Funk, and Miss Patricia Little. For a wedding trip to Florida, the bride changed to a navy silk shantung suit, with navy and white accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Miller will reside near Decatur. Railroad Crossing Flasher Is Damaged ! Between $6,000 and SB,OOO damage to a flasher and crossing arm at the Erie railroad crossing on highway 224 between Decatur and Preble occurred early Sunday morning, sheriff Merle Affolder said today. ' Apparently a truck left the road and hit the flashers, putting them out of commission, sometime between 3 and 4 a.m. Sunday. The state police have been alerted to be on the look-out for a damaged semi-truck. W. M. Bumgerdner, station agent, said that a crew was at work this morning to repair the flashers by this evening, and that a guard is on duty until they are fixed. ■■ ' ' ~ ~ -

Births At the Adams county memorial hospital: Douglas and Marion Sorg Gilpin, 42 Homestead, Decatur, are parents of a seven pound. 11 ounce son, born at 7:50 p.m. Sunday. Twin daughters were born this morning to Donald and Doris Fickert Gerber, route 2. Berne. The first, born at 3:22 a.m., weighed five pounds, 15 ounces. The second was born at 3:36 a m. and weighed eight pounds, and one-half ounce. 1,000 East Germans Flee To West Sunday BERLIN (UPD — More than 1,000 East Germans fled to West Berlin during the weekend, many of them taking advantage of the Communist May Day celebrations to do so, refugee officials reported today. Last month, 15,402 refugees from the Soviet Zone were welcomed here. The month’s total was one of the highest since the workers’ rebellion of June. 1953.
