Twentyfour members and eight children were present. Mrs. Leo King. Sr . vice president, opened the meeting with the club creed in the absence of the president. Mrs Harkless was in charge of the devotions. History of the song of the month was presented by Mrs. Adolph Weidler. The group then sang the song, with Mrs. Sherman Kunkel accompanying. Donald Hoile gave the lesson on Insurance. A question and answer period followed. Mrs Sherman Kunkel was in charge of the citizenship lesson on "The Importance of Voting.” Several methods of artificial respiration were then outlined by Mrs. Lester Painter. The treasurer’s report was read by Mrs. Otto

The meeting was adjourned with the Mizpah benediction. CLUB MEETING FEATURES COME-AS-YOU-ARE THEME The Tuesday meeting of the Sunny Circle club was held in the form of ■ ‘come-as-you-are’ party. Eighteen members present joined in singing the club prayer, followed by repeating the month's memory verse in unison. Devotions were led by Irene Girod and roll call was answered by "my personal idea of being rich.” Lorene Conrad and Dorothy Erxleben presented the lesson on insurance and investments. The health and safety lesson was in charge of Clara Fuhrman. Mildred Hildebrand read the history and led the song of the month. "All Through the Night.” The business meeting was presided over by Helen Beery. During the social hour, Alma Miller and Leona Worth received prizes in a flower guessing contest. Lunch was then served by the hostess, Matilda Peters and Irene Girod.

Paul Riley To Gain National Recognition Paul Riley, sophomore student in the Indiana University school of Medicine and son of the Rev. and Mrs. Vernon Riley of Monroe, will receive national recognition at the student American medical association convention in Los Angeles, May 4-7. A paper, describing original research into treatment of upper respiratory infections, has been accepted for presentation at the convention aod designated as one of three prize-winning papers submitted by medical students. His studies involved various drugs ana their effectiveness against virus infections. Five research exhibits by I. U. students have also been accepted for display at the student medical meeting, giving Indiana University a. record for participation by students from a single medical school. The I. U. group is flying to Los Angeles this weekend and will be joined there Thursday by Dr. John D. Telephone Religious Service By Church A telephone religious service will be available in Decatur to, day. pioneering a new religious, service to the busy people of the city, the Rev. Edward Pacha., pastor of the First Christian 1 church, announced this morning By calling telephone number 3-3158, at any time of the day or night, busy, harassed Decaturites can hear 75 seconds of prayer, courtesy of the First Christion church. Similar in mechanical operation to the Decatur Daily DemocratCitizens Telephone company news service, the number rings once, tripping a 75-second tape, which begins playing and plays through once. After the prayer, the caller is automatically cut off and the tape rewinds, and is ready for the next caller. One person at a time may use-dhe service. The 23rd Psalih is the prayer in use today. If the service proves popular, the prayer will be changed three times a day. The number of persons using the service will be counted to estimate its popularity, and whether this type of service meets the need of the citizens. 1 | Sen.
