Paul Shepherd, assistant to the regional manager of the railroad s central diviskgi. said CAO would prefer one time zone for all of Indiana. “It would be dangerous, he said, “to operate if the time zone is split down the middle of the state. There is a chance that a train tyould collide with a track motor car with as many as 12 or 14 men riding on it.’’ Shepherd said this would be possible because confusion over train schedules if maintenance men had meir watches on one time to correspond with the time prevailing in the area in which they live, and'the trains were operating on another time. Among 29 Witnesses Shepherd was one of 29 persons 'testifying or scheduler: to testify at a one-day hearing of the Interstate Commerce Commission to determine the attitude of Hoosiers

I THINK Have in beard that Every Church in Decatur will get 10% of the sale price of the Light Plant? Have you beard that the streets of Decatur will be paved with gold—ls we keep the Light Plant? Have you heard that a franchise is valuable and that someone in Cuba will pay $3,000,000 for the franchise to operate street cars on Monroe Street? •• Is it true that if we keep the Light Plant, there won’t be any more taxes io pay in Decatur? ——7^ — — Is it true that City Light has some mystic hook-up that will provide power without lines—so that we will never be without power? Is it true that black is really while? Is it true that the Light Plant made $3,000,000 last year but showed a profit of $3,000? Did you know that a few local people are better abb to estimate the needs and cost of fixing up our worn out power plants than many reputable engineering firms? Have yon heard that the SI. Mary’s River is to be dredged and a submarine base located here in Decatur if we keep the Light Plant? Is it true that I.&M. will pay for the Light Plant with Confederate money? Is it trae that our Rural neighbors are so prosperous that they actually enjoy paying Decatur twice as much for power as they would pay to 1.&M.? These and other matters sent out in an unsigned btlor which yon received today should be considered when you vote tomorrow.
