Callow is the son of Mr and Mrs Stanley J. Callow of 204 South 9th street. Decatur■. the bride-elect is a graduate of Decatur Catholic high school and Holy Cross Central school of nursing. She is presently employed at the Parkview memorial hospital in Fort Wayne. Her fiance graduated from the Decatur high school and is employed by International Harvester. The couple will recite vows at 10 a. m. July 30 at the St. Mary’s Catholic church.

ZION E AND R CIRCLE MEETS RECENTLY Sixteen members of the Ruth and Naomi circle of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church met recently at the church for their monthly meeting. Mrs. William Kliekman, leader for the afternoon, opened the meeting with silent prayer, followed by group singing. Miss Lydia Kirsch then favored the group with a piano solo. The lesson topic on “Forgiveness” and a chapter of the study book were presented for the program. Hostesses for the day were Mrs. Merlin Ross, Mrs. Harry Frauhiger, and Miss Lydia Kirsch. ADAMS COUNTY W. C. T. U. CONDUCTS INSTITUTE FRIDAY The Adams county Women’s Christian Temperance Union Institute was held Friday at the Antioch United Missionary church. The morning session opened at 10:30 with Mrs. D. C. Shady presiding. A song service was then led by the Rev. and Mrs. C. W. Wilson. Mrs. Delton Passwater was in charge of the devotions, followed by a solo by Rev. Wilson. A short talk on temperance work and its influence In the home was given by Mrs. Cleo Parrish of Fountain City. After a noontide prayer given by Rev. Wilson, a carry-in dinner was served in the recreation building-. The afternoon session opened at 1:30 p.m. with songs and a solo by Rev. Wilson. Devotions were given by Mrs. Ferdinand Mettler of Berne and a talk on literature was presented by Mrs. Floyd Stoneburner of Kirkland. Mrs. Cleo Parrish, state president from Fountain City, presented the keynote address on the theme “Skyways to Abstinence.” A playlet given by the Monroe Union and an offering concluded the program for the afternoon. The institute was adjourned with the friendship circle and prayer offered by Mrs. Mary Kimmel of Bluffton. DECATUR HOST TO DISTRICT SUNSHINE GIRLS CONVENTION Flo Kan Council 22 of Decatur was hostess for the Pythian Sunshine Girls district convention held Sunday at the Moose home. Introducing all the part grand offlrera Next, they formed a heart and brought the present grand officers in and placed them between the Decatur girls in the heart formation, after which they brought their grand royal princess Beverly Clevenger, into the center of the heart, where she was given honors. After several other formations, the grand royal ! advisor, grand counsellor, and supremo royal princess were presented corsages by the Flo-Kan girls. During the program which followed. a welcome address was given by Donna Corey, royal princess of Decatur. The response, opening, balloting. Installation of district officers and initiation of officers followed. Prises were awarded by Vera Barber, grand royal advisor. Talks were given by supreme, grand officers, and guests. It was decided that the 1961 convention will be held in Peru. The meeting then moved into the I dining room, where tables were laid with white cloths, yellow nut cups and yellow napkins. Marion; Arlene Ancil, Converse; Faye Ahr, Decatur. LADIES FELLOWSHIP MEETS IN PARSONAGE BASEMENT The Ladies Fellowship of the Missionary church met Thursday evening in the parsonage basement. Eleven members were present. Prayer delivered by Mrs. Mervin Rupp opened the meeting and devotions were given by Mrs. Mary Millington, using as her source. Acts 5:1-4. The ladies spent the evening working on a comforter. Mrs. Millington delivered the closing prayer.
