Saturday and Sunday nights.” Anderson said. “But one thing about the kiddie matinees. They should build up a new generation of movie-goers.” Food Profits Help “We do need the adults," Sconce said. "We now are approaching the time when we can make a picture appealing to adults, ' Daurelle gaid. "For so long the teen-agers were the only’ ones who kept movie houses going and we had to make pictures to attract them.' The neighborhood shows, which also compete against drive-ins and first-run downtown theaters in addition to TV, are looking with interest at the profit to be gained —from sale of food “We aren’t geared for serving full meals yet,” Sconce said. “But it is barely possible we could. Right now its popcorn, candy and ice cream, mainly.” He estimated that not more than ‘ 20 neighborhood theaters remain in Indiana, compared to an estii mated 100 before television and ; drive-ins provided nearly-fatal : competition. » "People say movies closed i vaudeville, and vaudeille closed • the legitimate theater, but we are j all three still around,” Anderson i said. "The theaters that were ’ smart enough to stay or too stubborn to quit look like they can ' make the grade now.” Mystery Sub Is Attacked By Frigate - PUERTO MADRYN, Argentina (UPI) — The Argentine frigate Murature attacked and perhaps damaged the mystery submarine of the Nuevo Gulf Tuesday night, apparently with depth charges flown from the United States. The U-boat, - undetected for more than 36 hours, was picked up on sonar Tuesday night by the Argentine frigate King. The Murature, following word from the King, closed in and also detected the submarine. Attack Is Pressed The Argentine vessels promptly attacked the mysterious underset craft, and reports circulating here today said the Murature may have hit it. ./■ The report suggested the Murature mav have been using the late-model depth charges bought from the Baited States. Argentina's own charges had proved ineffective because they could not . be detonated deep enough to be a serious threat in the 500-foot waters of the gulf Naval circles were optimistic —about the possible effect of the attack.
