Around Town Another series of moves will take place soon. It is understood that the Shroyer building, between Beavers Service Station and Kane’s Paint Shop, is being remodeled and will soon be the new home of Budget Loan, which will move from across the street. Suttle's Insurance will move into the building lacated by Budget, and attorney John DeVoss will move down to the office previously occupied by Arthur Suttles, Mrs. Anita Macklin is the new manager of the Credit Bureau of Adams and Wells counties, taking over from Ed Bogus, who, it is understood, may be going into the insurance business, perhaps across the hall from the credit bureau office. On Wednesday, many of the Decatur merchants, especially those who advertised worthwhile bargains, did their best Dollar Day business in many years. It s always good to see so many people out on the main streets shopping and talking with their friends and neighbors.

When a woman is paying her first call on a woman who has recently moved into the neighborhood, how long should she remain? A. From 15 to 20 minutes should be long enough. Usually, a woman who has just moved into a new home has loads of work on her hands and she might resent a too-lengthy visit. Q. When a hostess is serving cocktails and knows that one or two of her guests do not care for them, what should she do? A. She should be prepared for any such eventualities, and serve these guests some soft drinks. Q. Is the bride supposed to do the cutting of the wedding cake? A. Only the first piece. Then each guest can cut his own slice, or some friend can be asked to perform this task.

I Household Scrapbook | By ROBERTA LEB Safety Flrat Valuable rings can be hidden by slipping them onto a cup hook screwed to the underside of a cabinet top. or some other out-of-the-way location that is known only to you and other members of your immediate family. Luncheon Salad A good salad for the main course a at luncheon is made with tuna fish molded in the form of a ring and the center filled with mixed vegetables. Either mayonnaise or French dressing may be used. Nail in Plaster Placing the nail in very hot water before driving it into a plaster wall will lessen the danger of its crumbling the plaster. Aluminum Discoloration on aluminum utensils. caused by food or water containing iron, is easily removed by rubbing briskly with steel wool and soap. Then rinse and dry. Pearl Handles Pearl handles are made of moth-er-of-pearl, the nacre that lines the shells. They need only soap and water. No ammonia. Do not let the pearl handles soak in water, as this treatment may loosen the .cement that holds them in place. Rust on Garments Soak rust stains on garments with lemon juice, then hold the stained area over the spout of a steaming teakettle. After that, a few hours in the sun helps lots. For most stains on white washables, cover the spot with cream of tartar, gather up the ends of the article so the powder stays on the spot as though it were in the bottom of a sack, then dip the whole thing into hot water for five minutes. Ordinary laundering completes the job.
