Rural Contract Fire chief Cedric Fisher then reported on fire department contracts with township trustees in the north half of Adams county. Chief Fisher explained that the trustees accepted the contract as proposed by the city council, except that rather than pay al! departments called, they would pay only the one that gets to a rural fire first. The city council, after a discussion, decided this was better than no hope of payment at all, and voted to accept the agreement. The department will receive from the trustee, if the victim has no money or insurance, sls for the first mile, S2O for 2 to 5 miles, and $25 for from 5 to 10 miles, plus $2 per man and $5. per hour over one hour.
